Excited to share the latest video capturing the outstanding work our colleagues at Delft University of Technology and in cooperation with Waterschap Limburg and fibrisTerre have been pushing forward. @Juan Pablo Aguilar López Their experimental setup of a mobile flood defense system is a great example of what dedicated collaboration can achieve across the MULTICLIMACT Project!
Assistant Professor (Tenure Tracker) at Technische Universiteit Delft on Structural Flood Resilience
Last monday we have successfully finished the movable barrier fiber optics based monitoring system demonstrator from the MULTICLIMACT Project at Roermond Groen Rivier in Limburg ! It was a complete success 🤩 as we manage to detect intra-element displacement way earlier before failure and under extreme but realistic water loading conditions. This demonstrator was possible thanks to the joint collaboration between Waterschap Limburg @JuusTeensma,Dutch Water Prevention Raymond Hofer, RINA, Hydraulic Engineering Chimango Mweso MSc, BSc. Saul Buitrago Diaz and especially thanks to our fiber optics fabricant partner in the project fibrisTerre Nils Nöther. Splicing cables in record time with almost 0 db loss continues to be very impressive for me 😅. Structural flood resilience is the way ! #StructuralFloodResilience #FiberOptics #MovableBarriers #MULTICLIMACT #
