When disaster strikes, true leadership rises. Meet Jyoti Kumar, Sr. Area Manager, Rail Logistics Management, Tata Steel Limited. With over 22 years of service in the Tata Group, Jyoti is also part of the One Tata Disaster Response Cadre — a role he embraced in 2016 to stand by communities in times of need. In 2017, during the devastating Bihar floods, Jyoti led a 24-member volunteer team and a procurement officer to deliver critical relief to over 25,000 people across the worst-hit districts of Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, Betia, and Narkatiaganj. Covering 400 kilometers over 24 days, the team provided essential aid and dignity kits to the most vulnerable. His journey is a powerful example of purpose-driven leadership, compassion in action, and the Tata commitment to building resilient communities. Tata Sustainability Month 2025 | Wrap-Up TSM 2025 brought together a wave of sustainable actions across the Tata ecosystem — where purpose met participation and intent became impact. Through everyday choices, collective engagement, and a shared belief in change, Tata employees turned sustainability into a lived practice — one step, one idea, one act at a time. All aligned with Project Aalingana, our group’s commitment to net zero, resource efficiency, and biodiversity. And this is just the beginning. Here’s to remembering what we built and to building even more in the chapters ahead. #TataSustainabilityMonth #BeTheSMARTOne #ProjectAalingana #SustainabilityLeadership #TSG #NetZero #CircularEconomy #GreenWorkplace #TataGroup #EmployeeEngagement #Environment #EcoAwareness #TSM2025

Introducing #EverydayResilience — a new series spotlighting how Tata companies are embedding disaster preparedness in communities. Preparedness isn’t abstract—it’s local, practical, and teachable. Today we pair two on-the-ground actions from Tata Communications and Titan that turn risk maps into real readiness: strengthening water security in drought-prone villages and building safety muscle memory in schools. Swipe to see how resilience looks when it’s funded first, not after the fact. Why this matters now: The UN’s 2025 International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction calls for a decisive shift—“Fund Resilience, Not Disasters.” That means investing in community planning, nature-based buffers, and classroom drills before the next shock, and ensuring development budgets are risk-informed. In 2014, India became the first country in the world to legally mandate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) through Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013 — a landmark moment that redefined the role of business in nation-building. Long before this legislative shift, the Tata Group had already embedded community development into its core philosophy. Since its inception, the Group has believed that the purpose of business goes beyond profits — it is about improving the quality of life of the communities it serves. From healthcare and education to disaster relief and rural development, Tata companies have consistently invested in initiatives that foster inclusive growth and resilience. This alignment between national policy and Tata’s values has further expanded opportunities for private sector participation in post-disaster response and risk reduction, reinforcing the Group’s legacy of leadership with trust. The 2025 edition of the UN Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction (GAR) highlights the Tata Group’s exemplary efforts in mainstreaming disaster risk reduction (DRR) principles into its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework. The report commends the Group for proactively revising its CSR strategies to ensure that resilience and risk preparedness are embedded across all CSR activities – setting a global benchmark for private sector engagement in disaster risk management. This #InternationalDayForDisasterRiskReduction, Tata Group reaffirms its commitment to building resilient communities across India. Our efforts to advance disaster preparedness and empower local leadership are continuous and evolving. We invite you to stay engaged as we unveil the initiatives across Tata companies, dedicated to strengthening communities across India. Follow along as we share how resilience lives in action, every day.
