Last Friday, I had the incredible opportunity to present my Agentic AI–based personal finance project to the Honourable Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, which is currently under development and is in rudimentary stage. What made the moment unforgettable was an unexpected coincidence: just minutes after my presentation, during the question–answer session, Ma’am offered a deeply insightful response on Women and Personal Finance — highlighting financial independence, disciplined money management, and the strong ecosystem of schemes developed by the Government of India. Having just demonstrated an AI-driven tool designed to empower users with clearer financial understanding, this alignment felt both surreal and encouraging. The Honourable Minister was in Kohima to officiate the launch of SAMARTH: Students Advancing Mindsets in AI, Robotics, Technology and Digital Hardware, an initiative aimed at nurturing young tech talent across the North East. The event was attended by senior officials from NIELIT Kohima and the Nagaland State Government, creating an inspiring atmosphere for student innovators who were showcasing their work. During my demonstration, the Honourable Minister asked an intriguing question about how the system predicts trends in commodity markets — a broader analytical capability the platform is gradually expanding into. I explained that the tool integrates Machine Learning techniques, particularly Time-Series forecasting models, to study market patterns and generate data-driven insights. This moment also marked a soft public introduction of my project, BudAI — an Agentic AI–powered financial intelligence assistant designed to automatically interpret bank statements, categorise transactions using intelligent similarity and classification models, and generate meaningful insights about spending behaviour. BudAI aims to make personal finance clearer, more intuitive, and more accessible by providing users with automated categorisation, analytics, and emerging predictive features.
