TGT has established a strategic cooperation with China Resources Enterprise, a subsidiary of China Resources Group, to create a Joint Research and Development Centre at the China Resources Financial Centre in Qianhai, Shenzhen. This collaboration will leverage the strengths of both parties to explore innovative applications of smart technology, providing strong momentum for digitization and AI applications in enterprises. The Joint Research and Development Centre will combine TGT’s expertise in connectivity, data centre, and ICT solutions with the resources of China Resources Enterprise. This cooperation will not only assist China Resources Group in its digital transformation and enhance AI applications but also provide TGT with significant opportunities to expand its services to mainland enterprises. Choosing Qianhai as the location for the Joint Research and Development Centre is strategically important. As a key region in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Qianhai benefits from a prime geographical location and government support, maximizing its potential as a hub for technology and financial resources. The geographical advantage of the R&D centre will greatly enhance the synergy, ensuring effective implementation of innovative solutions. This strategic cooperation highlights the integration between traditional industries with modern technologies. (19 May 2025) Towngas Telecommunications Company Limited (TGT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas), and Ant Digital Technologies recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The two parties will engage in deep collaboration around real-world assets (RWA) combined with Ant Digital Technologies’ AI capabilities. According to the MOU, both parties will jointly explore the development of AI-enhanced data centre services, including comprehensive solutions such as Internet Data Centre (IDC) RWA field collaboration, AI transformation and upgrade for Towngas’s related businesses, and integrated AI agent services for local and overseas customers. This will enhance TGT’s existing service standards and position it as an emerging player in the AI solutions market. “This partnership marks an exciting new chapter for TGT,” said Mr. Edmund Yeung Lui-ming, Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of Towngas. “By combining our data centre expertise with Ant Digital Technologies’ AI capabilities, we plan to deliver smarter solutions that address our customers’ evolving needs. Currently, Towngas’s seven major business segments include: Hong Kong city-gas operations, Chinese mainland city-gas operations, mainland water and environmental operations, renewable energy, extended businesses (B2C), green methanol, and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Capitalising on Ant Digital Technologies’ AI computing power, Towngas will be able to drive business development, build a leading AI energy ecosystem, and meet customers’ AI demands. Additionally, riding on its collaboration with Ant Digital Technologies, Towngas will also actively adopt AI to strengthen internal management, establishing an integrated group-wide control system for finance, human resources, procurement and supply chain, operations, and master data, achieving a management strategy that is “end-to-end and top-to-bottom”.

TGT participated in the ” Lai See Reuse and Recycle Program 2025″ organized by Greeners Action, reminding everyone to protect the environment while celebrating the festive season. We believe that traditional customs and a green, sustainable lifestyle can coexist. Through the initiative of reusing red packets, we aim to further promote the concept of reducing waste during the holidays and educate everyone on the importance of valuing resources and minimizing waste during festive times. We have set up lai see recycling collection boxes in our office to encourage colleagues to respond to this initiative and contribute to environmental protection. TGT will continue to promote environmental protection and the green development of our business, creating a better environment for our future!

TGT held a business tour on 14th Feb 2025 at its Hong Kong Data Centre, welcoming over 10 guests from the Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Association (WTIA). The event aimed to provide them with an in-depth understanding of TGT’s telecommunications business and industry technology developments. During the event, our professional team provided detailed presentation on the company’s core businesses, including Connectivity, Data Centres, and Diversified ICT services. We also introduced our cloud computing products and services, such as GO HR, SURE and Cloud PBX, and shared insights into the company’s outstanding performance and future development prospects. The guests showed great interest throughout the visit, actively asking questions and expressing that the event provided them with valuable industry knowledge.

2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of TGT. To celebrate this milestone, the company held an event to review its achievements over the past 20 years and to look forward to the future. TGT has also initiated smart city projects, launching the property management cloud platform SURE Smart Solution, Smart Home Solutions, and the H1 Lifestyle App, as well as providing fiber optic network solutions in the super Grade A commercial building, The Henderson.
