Not even because of the talks (though I always leave smarter). But because of the people. This is one of the few places I’ve found where deep technical expertise and genuine kindness sit side by side. Where you don’t have to pretend to know everything. Where you’re encouraged to ask, challenge, rethink, and share — not to show off, but to build something better. Together we drive innovation. And that’s why I’m so glad we’re doing this again — April 2026, back at the Darmstadion in Darmstadt. 🏆 Congratulations to hessian.AI Prof. Dr. Georgia Chalvatzaki on receiving the Alfried Krupp Award 2025! 🏆 Georgia Chalvatzaki, Professor of Interactive Robot Perception and Learning at Technische Universität Darmstadt, has been honored with the Alfried Krupp Award 2025. This prestigious award from the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach-Stiftung is one of Germany’s most significant scientific distinctions, accompanied by a grant of 1.1 million euros. 🤖 Her research in robotics, artificial intelligence, and human-robot cooperation is considered groundbreaking for human-centered robotics and opens up new perspectives for the next generation of intelligent robots. We are proud to be part of the Jupiter AI Factory (JAIF) and to contribute to European sovereignty. 👇
Ensuring Europes global competitiveness: Kick-off event of the JAIF consortium - an important milestone, but not enough!!! On 7 November we kicked off the JUPITER AI Factory (JAIF) with a big get-together of all consortium partners, supporters, and the general public. JAIF is one of 19 AI Factories 50% funded by EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) and 50% funded by BMFTR, MKW/NRW and HMWK. JAIF will not only offer access to AI-optimised supercomputers but also technical support, training and other services to develop and implement AI applications across SMEs, industry, startups, research, and public administration. JUPITER, the first and only European Exascale supercomputer, is at the heart of JAIF and enables unprecedented opportunities for the European AI ecosystem. During the event Holger Hoos gave an outlook on the required next steps of JAIF and all other AI Factories in Europe: “JAIF is an important milestone, but it is not enough. The other AI factories will not be enough either. The construction of the gigafactories planned by the EU is therefore crucial, as they will enable us to maintain our global competitiveness. We must therefore ensure that these gigafactories are implemented as quickly as possible in order to bring the greatest possible added value to European member states for maintaining our international competitiveness." JAIF consortium partners are Forschungszentrum Jülich (Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC)), RWTH Aachen University (RWTH Center for Artificial Intelligence), the Fraunhofer FIT and Fraunhofer IAIS , and hessian.AI. Since October 2025, the Belgian AI Factory Antenna (BE-AIFA) and the Hungarian AI Factory Antenna (HunAIFA) have been part of the initiative as so-called AI Factory Antennas. 💜 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁! 💜 From the very first idea during brainstorming to the draft on the whiteboard and then turning it into a working prototype within just 26 hours⁉️ That is exactly what happened at the 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 Futury 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱_𝗗𝗮𝘆𝘀 | 𝗔𝗜 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 – 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 hessian.AI‼️ We look back on an event that combined the full energy of a hackathon💻, creativity 🎨, and genuine startup motivation to build real business cases 🎯 More than 70 students worked late into the night – some even without sleep for the full 26 hours – in interdisciplinary teams to develop solutions for real business challenges provided by our industry partners. The challenges ranged from the Green Impact Wallet for individual sustainability goals by Yippie.de | MAINGAU Energie GmbH Energie, to an AI-based trend radar for Deutsche Bank, and the AI CleanCheck to enhance quality control and transparency in facility management by the WISAG. Along the way, the teams were guided and supported by experienced mentors from partner companies, the Fraunhofer Institute, and successful startups such as SportsRouting, as well as tech experts from hessian.AI, vectorsoft, and Unlost GmbH. After 26 hours, our juries had the tough job of picking the cherries 🍒 from a field of impressive prototypes and innovative ideas. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲? From studies to founding a company. Learning in sprints, thinking like entrepreneurs, designing like founders – supported by Futury and our partners. Each challenge produced a winning team, which received €500 in prize money & ongoing free start-up support from Futury. 👉 And these Build_Days | AI Edition was just the beginning.
