Last week was the inspiring 2025 Power of Speech event at Parliament House Canberra! Children, families and staff from First Voice centres across Australia and New Zealand came together, with Members of Parliament and hearing health leaders, to celebrate the amazing achievements of six young speakers with hearing loss and cochlear implants. Including our very own TSH superstar, Oliver (Ollie). Joined at the event by his father Marc (pictured), TSH Specialist Teacher, Zita Ferreira, and TSH CEO, Carole Steketee, Ollie spoke about his life, his family and the team that has helped him thrive. As Ollie put it: “My family and TSH partnered up and they became my team”. We are so proud of Ollie, taking the stage with courage and confidence to share his story and show what’s possible through early intervention and access to sound, opening doors to a brighter future 💙 Thank you to The Shepherd Centre for hosting, Cochlear for their support, and all who made the event such a memorable one. Today is World Teachers’ Day 🍎📚 This year’s theme is ‘Recasting teaching as a collaborative profession’ 🧑🏫 Today we are celebrating the incredible teachers at TSH who collaborate to inspire, support and empower children every single day. At TSH, collaboration isn’t just a concept – it’s at the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s through team planning, peer mentoring, or working closely with families and support staff, they show us the true power of shared purpose. This theme reminds us that when teachers collaborate, it transforms not only their professional growth and identity but also the educational experience and outcomes for our students. We are proud of the way our educators lead with heart, work as a team, and continually strive to grow together. So today, and every day, we say THANK YOU to the dedicated teachers at TSH. Your passion and teamwork are shaping futures. Let’s celebrate them together! 💙 #TSH #TSHPerth #TeachSpeakHear #ALifeChangingJourney #WorldTeachersDay #HatsOffToTeachers

Members of our TSH staff had the privilege of attending the AIM WA 2025 Future Leaders Forum: Choosing Your Path. This forum brought together emerging leaders to explore and discover purpose, how to shape their personal brand and how to embrace a non-linear career. The forum was packed with insights that left participants with a deeper understanding of their role as future leaders. A heartfelt thank you to the incredible speakers and panellists who shared real stories, practical wisdom and lasting inspiration. Thank you AIM WA for hosting such an incredible educational event. #TSH #TeachSpeakHear #ALifeChangingJourney #AIM #AIMWA #Leadership

Tomorrow marks the tenth annual Power of Speech event at Parliament House Canberra! We’re thrilled that our very own TSH student, Oliver, will be taking part alongside other incredible children with hearing loss, sharing their lived experiences with politicians. Ollie, now in Year 5, has been part of the TSH family since he was a baby. Diagnosed with severe to profound hearing loss in both ears shortly after birth, he began his journey in our Chatterbox program - for babies and toddlers with hearing loss - and is now thriving as an Outpost student at Newman College. We are so proud of Ollie and know he’ll shine on the big stage tomorrow, representing TSH and joining children from First Voice member organisations across Australia and New Zealand. With the help and support of TSH’s early intervention hearing services, speech therapy, occupational therapy and specialised teaching, Ollie has found confidence and his voice - and he’s using it to inspire others. Just last month, Ollie met with our local MP, Kate Chaney MP, alongside TSH CEO Carole Steketee, and TSH Principal Natalie Tarr to chat about public speaking tips and what to expect at Parliament House. Go Ollie! We’re cheering you on every step of the way. #TSH #TSHPerth #TeachSpeakHear #ALifeChangingJourney #ChildDevelopment #ChildhoodDevelopment #ChildrensHealth #PerthCommunity #CommunitySupport #WestAustralian #EarlyIntervention #EarlyChildhood #HearingLoss #HearingAwareness #Audiology #SpeechPathology #SpeechTherapy #OccupationalTherapy #ChatterboxProgram #OutpostProgram #PowerofSpeech

Our amazing staff had a fantastic time volunteering at the TSH stand during the Telethon7 Family Festival! 🌻 This year, we created the Teach, Speak, Hear Garden, with sunflowers symbolising the growth and flourishment children experience through our programs 🌱✨ The TSH team loved chatting with parents while the kids had fun making their own sunflowers to take home and grow, colouring in bugs to add to the garden, and completing dot-to-dots - all great for fine motor skills, of course! 💛 We’re so grateful to be part of a community that helps children bloom and reach their full potential🌻 #TSH #TSHPerth #ALifeChangingJourney #Telethon7 #Sunflower #Growth #ParentingJourney #PerthKids

TSH had the privilege of joining Cockburn Integrated Health, The Kids Research Institute Australia and the Cockburn community last week for a powerful NAIDOC celebration - a day filled with culture, connection and community 💛🖤❤️ It was inspiring to be surrounded by local organisations, families, health workers and community leaders, all coming together to listen, share and honour stories that have shaped generations. NAIDOC is a powerful reminder of the enduring strength and beauty of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. #TSH #TSHPerth #TeachSpeakHear #ALifeChangingJourney #NAIDOC #CockburnIntegratedHealth #TheKidsInstitute #Cockburn
