We’re proudly B Corp certified and local; brewing fresh approachable beer based in the Northern Rivers of NSW.

About us

Brewery established in Byron Bay, Australia. In 2008, three friends in the brewing business - Brad, Ross and Jamie - decided to take the leap and follow their vision for a beer company with a difference. Inspired by the idea of the village brewery, they wanted to create a business that not only produced fresh, quality beer but could also be relied upon to provide support to the wider community and the environment that supports us. Today, Stone & Wood is pouring all over the country, is a proud certified B Corp company and has a not-for-profit arm, the inGrained Foundation, that provides support to the Northern Rivers Community. You can find us where delicious beers are sold and at our online store.

Marketing Manager at Stone & Wood Brewing Co.

It’s National Recycling Week and we’ve got tons of good stuff on in Byron at Stone & Wood Brewing Company - if you’re in the Northern Rivers area on Thursday swing in to the tasting room. Teaming up with the Planet Ark crew and supporting their push this week, we’re turning the Byron Bay Tasting Room into a hub of ideas, inspiration and good vibes, inviting the community to roll up their sleeves and dive into circular economy through film, music, and some hands-on crafty workshops. Kicking off on Thursday the 13th of November, we'll be screening Damon Gameau's incredible and life-changing film "Future Council", with a panel of local change makers including Seabin™, Shedding.com.au and Byron Shire Council which I’m stoked to be hosting. Tickets can be found here https://lnkd.in/gCAMbDwh and if you come along I’ll be sure to shout you a beer. On Friday, it's time to get creative with some of our favourite local brands (Fallen Broken Street, Dusty, Atmosea, and Patagonia), with upcycling and repair workshops, a recycling drive for those tough to recycle items thanks to RecycleSmart, live music in the courtyard, as well as delicious food from our mates at 100 Mile Table. Be great to see any locals there and remember 1/3 of our beautiful tins of beer go into landfill so make sure you give them a second life, so that we can too 🍻🍻 Justin Merrell Allan Dib Rebecca Loch Lorietta Bahr Jodie Littlewood Lion

  • We’ve got something to cheers to 🍻 At this year’s Melbourne Royal® Australian International Beer Awards, a few of our favourites took home some shiny new hardware. Radler and Big Pale took home Gold ratings
and Easy Pale and Hazy Pale landed Silver ratings. Massive thanks to our Head Brewer, Caolan Vaughan who flew the flag for us at the awards, and to the entire crew back home who put so much into every batch. And of course, to everyone who’s cracked a tin, shared a pint, or brought a six-pack to a mate’s BBQ, these wins are for you too! Cheers from all of us at Stone & Wood!

Stone & Wood Brewing Company are trialing a more sustainable can. In partnership with our supply chain partners Visy, Novelis and Rio Tinto, Stone & Wood are trialing a new can that uses low carbon primary aluminium, contains on average 83% recycled aluminium and is estimated to generate 59% lower carbon emissions than our existing cans. This 18-month trial will see 15 million of these cans enter the market and is estimated to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 1,235 tonnes when compared to the equivalent quantity of our existing cans. An industry alliance with a can-do attitude for a better future – we’ll cheers to that!
