  • Maxima was proud to attend the LG Professionals SA Women's Network ‘Embrace It’ conference recently – an uplifting event that brought together women from across local government in SA to share stories, insights, and inspiration around leadership and connection. As one of the many accomplished speakers*, Maxima CEO Kate Thiele FAICD reflected on her leadership journey, sharing lessons learned through challenge and change. Her message centred on the power of purpose, authenticity, and compassion in leadership – qualities that continue to guide Maxima’s work. Maxima celebrates the community spirit and connection that events like this foster, and the strength that comes from women supporting women in leadership. With a connection to local government since our beginnings in 1985, it was especially meaningful to be part of such an inspiring day. Thanks to the LG Professionals SA team and everyone who made the event possible! As a proud partner of LG Professionals, Maxima looks forward to continuing to support their initiatives to build strong communities. *Check out this line-up of speakers! Christina Vithoulkas, Ally Nitschke, CSP, Karen Eley, Gemma Cunningham, Katrine Hildyard MP, Ottilie French and Erin Phillips. #WomenInLeadership #LocalGovernment #CommunityConnection #EmbraceIt #LGProfessionalsSA

  • "I never imagined myself working in a bank... but once I started, I realised how much I love helping people." Great to see NAB shining a light on Bella, a Maxima trainee who has been completing a School-based trainee at NAB Shepparton, Victoria. Bella has now secured a permanent role! Her story is a powerful example of what's possible when young people are given the right support. Congratulations, Bella!

While most Year 12s are preparing to graduate, Shepparton teen Bella Cooper is already starting her career at her local NAB branch. Through a First Nations School-based Traineeship with Maxima, Bella has spent the past two years balancing school with gaining hands-on experience in the branch - helping customers, building confidence, and gaining real-world skills. Her story shows what’s possible when opportunity meets determination. Read more about Bella’s journey here: https://lnkd.in/gZs7uWPp

The recent Maxima WA Awards brought together our graduating class of 2025, along with Maxima team members who have guided them, host employers and partners, for a night of celebration. Held at the beautiful Aloft Hotels Perth - itself a valued host employer - the evening recognised outstanding achievement across six award categories. We extend our thanks to our generous sponsors, BUSY At Work - The Apprenticeship Community and VTS Vocational Training Services RTO# 51843, for helping make the event possible. It was truly uplifting to hear about the dedication our trainees have shown in positioning themselves for rewarding future careers, and the support they’ve received from their host employers. Nights like this remind us of the life-changing impact a traineeship or apprenticeship can have - whether it’s for someone just starting out, embarking on a new chapter, or overcoming barriers to employment. The event was MCed by our own Stacy Thomas, General Manager of Group Training, with a warm Acknowledgement of Country delivered by school-based trainee Vylette Burns. We also took the opportunity to farewell WA State Manager Nadene Carr, who is moving on from Maxima after 10 years of service. Nadene’s leadership, passion and commitment have left a lasting impact on our WA team and the many customers, trainees and employers she has supported over the years. Congratulations to all our graduates and award winners for 2025: 🏆 Full-time Trainee of the Year: Desiree White – NAB 🏆Part-time Trainee of the Year: Vanessa Bryson – Maxima 🏆School-based Trainee of the Year: Vylette Burns – Clough/Webuild 🏆Rising Star: Natasha Heath – NAB 🏆🏆Achievement Awards: Nikeesha Cheah – Anglicare WA; and Merridy Monkhouse – Maxima 🏆Outstanding Contribution by a Host Employer - City of Vincent #Maxima #ReframeWhatsPossible #CelebratingExcellence #Traineeships #Graduation

Maxima was proud to sponsor the Indigenous Business of the Year Award at the recent SA Premier’s Business and Export Awards. The well-deserved winner was KWY Aboriginal Corporation, a not-for-profit organisation that works to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through economic, social, and cultural development initiatives. Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Craig Rigney and Stevie Weine from KWY for a yarn with Maxima staff and board representative Rebecca (Bex) Hunter-Harvey (unfortunately absent from the photo below). It was an enlightening conversation about Craig’s journey to KWY, the organisation’s incredible impact, and how organisations like Maxima - with our proud history of supporting Indigenous employment through our programs - can continue to reflect on how we serve community better. A particularly important takeaway was the reminder that we shouldn’t expect Indigenous staff to carry the full load of being the 'experts' in Indigenous matters. We must ensure they have a voice but not expect them to 'do all the doing'. Thanks again to Craig and Stevie for joining us and for enabling such a frank, generous, and valuable discussion. • Today marks the official launch of Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA), the new specialist employment service replacing Disability Employment Services (DES). It’s been a long journey, and it hasn’t always been easy, but what’s shone through is our team’s unwavering commitment to customers and to each other. IEA represents a fresh era for disability employment - one that’s more flexible, person-centred and focused on long-term success. Our teams have been hard at work onboarding customers to the new model, and that work continues across our sites in WA, along with our new delivery region in southern Adelaide. To everyone who has contributed, and to those cheering us on from the sidelines, thank you. We're excited about stepping into this new chapter ready to 'reframe what's possible' and make a difference for people living with disability, injury or health conditions.
