Today, on National Agriculture Day, we celebrate our farmers! #AgDayAU is an important annual milestone, and time to reflect and celebrate Australia’s incredible farmers and our agricultural industry. Every day, Aussie farmers work hard to produce world class food and fibre, nourishing generations of Australians. They are renowned for their tenacity, innovation and commitment to cultivating high-quality products in a sustainable way. Agriculture is a challenging industry, and over the past year, many of our farmers have been impacted by extreme weather events, experiencing droughts through to record level flooding. Our WFI Insurance brand continues to support their recovery, working closely with partners such as the National Farmers' Federation, Farmsafe Australia Inc and Rural Aid to strengthen their resiliency and help protect them from future events. It’s Fraud Awareness week and IAG is urging Australians stay vigilant against rising insurance scams and recognise the signs of opportunistic motor and property insurance fraudsters. Insurance scams are a growing issue, with companies or individuals posing as insurers through paid search advertising, ad-spoofing, or doorknocking to deliberately mislead people seeking help. IAG Executive Manager of Counter-Fraud and Intelligence Anthony McGrath is urging Australians to protect themselves by learning to spot the signs of a fake-operator: "While Claims Management Companies and Disaster Chasers are not illegal, some operate in a grey area, targeting and taking advantage of vulnerable Australians. If you think you’ve been scammed or contacted by one of these fake-operators, we urge you to immediately contact your insurer." We’re proud to launch an Australian-first study into Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to improve driver confidence and road safety Our new research revealed 60% of drivers are turning off crash prevention features such as autonomous emergency braking and lane keeping assist, and 70% say they would benefit from more information or training to help them use these systems effectively. In partnership with QUT and iMOVE CRC, we’re investigating how Australian drivers are using ADAS and what’s needed to improve confidence, education and safety outcomes on our roads. “IAG's research project will gather unique insights through observing Australian drivers while they’re operating ADAS safety features and identify behavioural barriers or knowledge gaps which could be addressed through greater driver education” - Shawn Ticehurst, Head of IAG Research Centre Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dZfGAw5b
