We’ve wrapped up the final day of the Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA) Congress in Perth with a closing plenary featuring Liam Bartlett in conversation with Adam Gilchrist and Mel Jones, who shared standout stories from their cricket careers and what it takes to stay ahead of the game. Adam reflected on stepping into state and international cricket, replacing two local legends, and the lessons he gained from strong leaders throughout his journey—offering valuable insights on performing in competitive environments. Mel highlighted her experiences winning World Cups, Ashes series’s and her work as a commentator around the globe plus her humanitarian work by emphasising the importance of celebrating wins at each critical career stage and how these moments help you build meaningful personal and professional relationships. FAAA Chair David Sharpe CFP® has then called stumps on this year’s 2025 FAAA Congress, it’s been an outstanding three days here in Perth with over 1200 attendees. And we are off and running on our last day here in Perth for Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA) Congress. We’ve had a superb morning session as AJ Kulatunga has shared how to master the art of strategic influence. In our next session Rachel Pritchard and Jemma Sanderson taken a deep dive into the taxation considerations you must take if moving overseas or to Australia. Katina Michael spoke to the four pillars of ethics and ethics alignment and in our final session this morning Greg B Davis shared strategies to get and keep clients engaged in their affairs. In our next round of sessions Tim Hewson has discussed identifying key mental health challenges and how to improve emotional wellbeing. Naomi Mee-Martino and Danielle Fagents took our delegates through a case study focusing on complex client entities and consolidating advice to deliver integrated strategies for their clients. Catherine Fitzpatrick, Julie Matheson and Amanda Caesar’s session discussed financial abuse and how to recognise the indications of it occurring and tips on how to deal with it. Simon Kuestenmacher then ran through key demographic trends shaping financial advice both currently and in the future. #FAAACongress25
