City of Moreton Bay is proud to see a local business bowling over sports fans across the world. Packer Leather, a Narangba-based manufacturer, has been part of Queensland’s industrial landscape for more than 130 years. In partnership with Kookaburra for over 15 years, Packer Leather has supplied the leather used to manufacture more than 10 million cricket balls globally, including the innovative pink ball that enabled day–night test cricket. Their expertise also supports other elite sporting codes, supplying premium leather for Sherrin footballs. 🏏🏉 Beyond sport, Packer Leather is a standout example of the innovation, craftsmanship and advanced manufacturing excellence that thrives in Moreton Bay. Their continual investment in testing, quality assurance and modern production techniques sets new industry benchmarks. With strong industrial precincts, proximity to major freight networks, and a collaborative business ecosystem, Moreton Bay is rapidly becoming a destination of choice for manufacturers. The upcoming TAFE Centre of Excellence will further strengthen our talent pipeline in engineering, construction and advanced manufacturing. Packer Leather exemplifies the future we’re building - a bigger, bolder and more competitive manufacturing sector that drives jobs, exports, and economic growth across our city.
