  • In March 2025, amendments to the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 introduced requirements for large employers to select and meet or demonstrate improvement against gender equality targets.   The new targets requirements are both an opportunity and a risk for CEOs and Boards. The opportunity is to use the requirement as a catalyst for improved organisational performance, while there are brand and reputational risks for employers in the selection, achievement, and communication of targets.   Mary Wooldridge, CEO of the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) and Dr Samone McCurdy, Head of WGA's Insights and Capability, presented an informative webinar unpacking the new requirements to CEW members. In this important session, members were given the valuable opportunity to hear directly from Mary and Samone, ask questions, share perspectives and gain clarity on the target's legislation and the actions they could take as a workplace leaders to drive positive change. CEW Members can watch the WGEA webinar recording on the Member Hub. I’ve just returned from facilitating a session on unlocking our energy potential for an extraordinary group of senior female leaders and I can't wipe the smile off my face. I’m not one for humblebrags, but what an honour it is to sit in a room with women who genuinely walk their talk with curiosity, courage and a willingness to look inward so they can lead outward with clarity and strength. The Chief Executive Women (CEW) Executive Leaders Program is truly a transformative leadership experience, not just because of the content, but because of the visionaries who shape it. A heartfelt thank you to Sarah Rowley, Ann Burns GAICD, and Program Manager Kathryn Glanze for creating a space where deep, meaningful leadership work can happen. And to the sensational facilitators Jo Stanley and Dr Louise Mahler - Build Confidence and Presence in Leadership, whose presence, insight and generosity elevate the entire program. If you haven’t experienced the CEW Executive Leaders Program, I can’t recommend it enough. Days like today remind me why this work matters, and why supporting the wellbeing and energy of leaders is one of the most meaningful contributions we can make right now. #CEW #WomenLeaders #CEOMindset #Wellbeing
