    Hardware is a graveyard for many tech giants.💀 Google's $1B bet on Glass fizzled into oblivion. Amazon's Fire Phone? A spectacular flameout. Even Apple's HomePod was meh. In a sea of tech flops, Meta just might have something actually working with their Ray-Ban smart glasses. 😎 EssilorLuxottica, a global eyewear giant and owner of the Ray-Ban brand, is Meta’s partner on the smartglasses. On an analyst call yesterday, their CFO noted that these glasses are the best-seller in 60% of the Ray-Ban stores in Europe. Most styles sold out quickly this year. Why? Meta finally nailed the balance between form and function. You don’t look like a cyborg wearing them, and they do more than just one or two gimmicky things. Real-time translation, calls, video recording—it’s not trying to be everything but it’s enough to make people care. What’s cool is how these glasses make capturing moments easy—hands-free POV video, real-time calls, and even some neat AI features (if you’re in the U.S.) These glasses are not over-engineered, and that might be their biggest strength. Unlike Google Glass, which looked like a sci-fi prop, Meta’s Ray-Bans are smartly designed—they blend in with the world rather than announcing themselves as “tech.” Reviews aren’t slamming it for once, and we might be seeing the first hardware success out of Meta since... well, ever.
