In the last 2 months, I got on calls with 11 coaches They were all from different industries: • 2x Public Speaking • 3x Health & Fitness • 3x Social Media • Dating • Sales • Career But all of them had the same problem: "Their inability to make their audience open their wallets and pay for their coaching programs" Here are 3 common mistakes I noticed all of them make that's stopping them from monetizing their audience: 1️⃣ Not creating niche-specific content: They're trying to go viral. And when you focus on likes, views, and followers—you end up bringing a lot of people on your profile who don't care about your offer. The dopamine high is great for sure. But the metric that really matters is the $$$ in your bank. 2️⃣ Not having a high-value free opt-in This means that everyone who is visiting their LI/Instagram profile and website is just bouncing off and their details haven't been captured in their funnel/system. Here's why it can be a problem: They’ve not joined your program "yet" And there can be different reasons for that: ̐• Time: “I’ll join in the future, now is not the right time” • Credibility: “Is [you] the right person to help me?” • Value: “I can get this info for free on the internet" • Trust: “Will I get the results I’m looking for?” • Money: “This program is too expensive” But the fact that they were on your profile means that they were interested to some extent. And you can nurture them with free value to build trust & eventually convert them to your paid program. But how would you do that? You don’t have their email. Which is why a lead magnet is absolutely important. 3️⃣ Not leveraging Emails I’m going to let you live with these stats: • For every $1 spent on email marketing, you get a $38 return on average. • Email is 40x more effective than social media for customer acquisition. • Email marketing revenue worldwide is expected to reach $17.9 billion by 2027. • 60% of consumers reported that they have made a purchase as a result of a promotional email. Email is powerful, there's no denying it. So I hate to break it to coaches, but if you're not using email as part of your marketing strategy, you're behind.

You’re posting on social media..but you’re not getting any inbound business from it. Then this post is for you. ↓ Every successful online builder is actively building an email list. Justin Welsh Simon Squibb Codie Sanchez Matt Gray Tim Denning Nick Huber Alex Hormozi etc, etc…. Why? NO ONE wants to be controlled by algorithms on social media = people want ownership AND Because email marketing is up to 40x more effective than social media when it comes to turning leads into customers. ✅ By owning an email list, you control how you reach your audience. ❌ Social media? Not so much. Social media algorithms are constantly changing, and you don't control those platforms. And don’t get me wrong, social media is a must to enable people to FIND you. But to convert people to clients: an email list is much more effective. With email, you’ve got a direct line to your people. You can nurture those relationships without relying on third-party platforms. No middleman, no algorithm changes. You’re talking straight with them. If you’re not building an email list, you’re missing out on one of the most effective ways to monetize your audience, and build a business. So, how do you go from having followers to building a loyal email list and turning them into paying customers? Here are a few actionable tips to get you started ↓ 1️⃣ Create Irresistible Lead Magnets Offer something of value in exchange for their email address. It can be a: - free guide - checklist - webinar - exclusive content …make sure it speaks directly to your audience’s pain points or desires. 2️⃣ Launch a newsletter on Beehiiv You can literally start one today. 3️⃣ Use Social Media to Promote Your Email List Don’t just share your lead magnet once → talk about it OFTEN. Tell your followers what they’re missing if they’re not on your list. Add some urgency or offer a bonus to get them to subscribe. Make it a part of your system. 4️⃣ Nurture with Consistent, Valuable Content Once they’re on your list, don’t just sell. Give them content they can actually use. And LEARN from. The more value you provide, the more trust you’ll build, and the more likely they are to buy from you down the line. Show people you understand them. Make yourself the go-to. Many people think they should do the opposite: Keep things behind a wall until people buy. ❌ That won’t build your business and it won’t build your email list. ✅ Share loads of value, and you will get more customers. 👉 Treat your emails list like an a$$et Treat your email list like the valuable asset it is. Ask for input. Encourage people to reach out. Make an effort to understand and respect people’s time. Don’t write super long essays (no on has time). Write newsletter editions people can skim read. Show up regularly in their inbox. Want examples how? 👉 Go here (it's free): https://lnkd.in/dUPYinYi

Social media’s got everyone fooled. You post a few viral clips, gain some followers, maybe even snag a blue check… And suddenly you think you’ve “made it.” Cool story. Now try monetizing that reach without paying for ads. Try announcing something important — and watch the algorithm bury it. Try “owning” your audience when your account gets suspended overnight. Social media is rented space. You’re just living in someone else’s house — and the rules change daily. If you’re not collecting emails, you’re not building a business. You’re building hype with no foundation. That email list? That’s yours. No algorithm. No shadowban. No pay-to-play. Just direct access to people who actually want to hear from you. Social gets you seen. Email gets you paid.

One of the worst decisions you can make for your business is putting all your marketing efforts into social media alone. As a social media/marketing manager, trust me when I say: Newsletters are one of the most underrated and underutilised marketing tools out there. Here’s why: When someone subscribes to your newsletter, they’re already invested in you. They’ve opted in. This means fewer touch-points to make a sale, and when they’re ready to buy, you’re top of mind. If you’re still on the fence, here are 5 reasons your business needs a newsletter: 1️⃣ Social media platforms can disappear at any time. Think TikTok’s potential ban—remember Vine? MySpace? Even Twitter’s had its shaky moments. If you’re relying solely on social media, you’re taking a big risk with your business. Newsletters give you direct access to your audience—no platform drama or algorithm mess to worry about. 2️⃣ You have control. Unlike social media, where algorithms decide whether your posts are seen (by only 5% of your audience on average), newsletters guarantee your content reaches your subscribers’ inboxes. No more relying on the ever-changing feed or platform rules. 3️⃣ It’s a personal way to connect. Email allows you to speak directly to your audience—no distractions, no competition for attention in a noisy feed. You can tailor your messages and build real relationships with your subscribers. 4️⃣ Emails convert better than social media. Studies show email marketing has an ROI of 36:1. That’s $36 for every $1 spent. People who engage with your emails are more likely to become paying customers compared to casual social media followers. 5️⃣ Newsletters are a powerful sales tool. A good newsletter isn’t just “Sale! Sale! Sale!” It’s about reminding subscribers who you are, how you can help, and why they trust you. When the time comes, and they’re ready to invest in your product or service, you’ll be top of mind. Think of your newsletter as a way to add real value. ________ If your plan for 2025 has been to solely focusing on social media, take this as your sign to start a newsletter. PS. I also write newsletters for my clients. If you're interested, drop me a DM with the word "Newsletter," and let's work together to create the perfect newsletter for you or your business!

Why Email Marketing Is My #1 Focus – And Not Social Media 👇 This year, I set a big goal for my business: reach 10k newsletter subscribers. And here’s why email is the most valuable marketing channel for me: 1️⃣ Direct Access, No Algorithms Unlike social media, email goes straight to the inbox. I don’t have to worry if a platform’s algorithm will hide my message. 💬 2️⃣ More Value, Less Noise In my former company, we had too many newsletters, and I found out our customers started reading less. Honestly, most people hate newsletters, because they feel like noise. So, I decided to do things differently: Every email I send has to provide real value. If I don’t think it’s valuable, I don’t send it. My subscribers know they’re only getting quality over quantity, not just another scheduled update. 3️⃣ Building Trust The email comes directly from my name, from my own inbox. People know it’s me, not a random marketing bot. And that builds a stronger connection. 🤝 4️⃣ Keeping it Unpredictable Instead of weekly newsletters, I send them out every 6–8 weeks (or even longer). This way, each one is a bit of a surprise. Readers don’t tune out or unsubscribe – many actually look forward to my emails. 5️⃣ Flexible Content in One Place A newsletter lets me cover multiple topics in one email. It’s like a one-stop shop for insights, tailored for my audience and making it more relevant for readers. 🔀 So, how did I go from 0 subscribers to (almost) 10k? - I made email sign-ups a priority, linking it on my social media and website. - I offered valuable content – free book summaries and other resources – in exchange for emails. - I treated my newsletter like a conversation. My subscribers get insights that matter, not a generic update. The Results: ✅ 74% open rate ✅ 36% click rate ✅ A community that’s genuinely engaged If you’re looking for real-world insights and practical strategies, my newsletter is where I share everything I’ve learned about entrepreneurship, productivity, and growth. We are at 9945 subs. Thanks for pushing us over the finish line 🙏 The subscription link is in the comments.

Most nonprofit organizations default to social media for growth. More reach means more donors, right? Not always. Let’s break it down with numbers. ROI (Return on Investment) Email marketing: $36 for every $1 spent (Data: DMA) Social media ads: $2.50–$5 per $1 spent (Data: HubSpot) Email wins. Less spend, more conversions. Donor Retention Email campaigns: 45% retention rate (Bloomerang) Social media donors: 4% retention rate (M+R Benchmarks) Email wins. You don’t own your social followers. Platforms do. Scalability Email lists: Grow predictably but require nurturing Social media: Explosive reach but volatile (algorithm shifts) Social wins for awareness. Email wins for conversions. How to Use Both (Smartly) Capture leads on social. Turn engagement into email subscribers. Nurture via email. Donors need consistent, direct messaging. Test and track. Measure click-through rates, not just likes. If your fundraising strategy relies only on social, you’re building a house on rented land. Own your audience. Email wins for retention and ROI. Social wins for reach. Smart campaigns use both. Agree? Disagree? Drop your thoughts below. With purpose and impact, Mario

Your Email List > Social Followers. Here’s Why Chasing likes won’t grow your bottom line. If you're still prioritizing social followers over email subscribers in 2025, you’re leaving serious revenue on the table. 5 Data-Backed Reasons Email > Social 1. You own your list Social = rented audience. Email = direct access. No algorithms. No platform risks. 2. Email = 4,200% ROI $1 in = $42 out (avg.) Compare that to 29% ROI for social (mainly via paid ads). 3. Engagement > Vanity Metrics 3–5% CTR in email vs. 1–2% on social media. Segmentation = 50%+ higher CTR. 4. Long-Term Value Wins Email subscriber = $45–$60/year in LTV. Social follower? Nearly $0 without ads. 5. Real Brands. Real Results. WPBeginner: 600% list growth = 3x revenue E-comm brand: 95k subs = $1.2M in email-driven sales Adam Enfroy: 17% product conversion via email 3 Steps to Maximize Your List Convert followers → lead magnets, popups, and exit-intent offers Segment & personalize → tailor content to interests Automate revenue → cart abandonment + re-engagement flows Email isn’t just a channel. Delete. Unsubscribe. Mark as spam. These are the reactions many assume email marketing elicits. Yet, while social media grabs headlines, email quietly outperforms, driving $36 for every $1 spent. It's the digital marketing channel that refuses to die – and for good reason. Many marketers overlook it, chasing the latest social media trends, but savvy businesses know its power. Here's why email marketing remains a cornerstone of effective digital communication: → Direct access to your audience: Unlike social platforms, your email list is yours. No algorithm changes can cut you off from your subscribers. → Personalization at scale: Modern email tools let you tailor content to individual preferences, increasing engagement and conversion rates. → Cost-effective: Compared to paid ads, email marketing often delivers a higher ROI. Some studies show returns as high as 4200%. → Measurable results: Open rates, click-through rates, and conversions are easily tracked, allowing for continuous optimization. → Builds long-term relationships: Regular, valuable emails keep your brand top-of-mind and foster customer loyalty. → Versatile content options: From newsletters to promotional offers, emails can serve various marketing goals. → Mobile-friendly: With most emails now read on smartphones, it's a perfect channel for reaching on-the-go consumers. Despite claims of its demise, email usage continues to grow. In fact, many Gen Z consumers prefer email for brand communications over social media messages. The key? Providing value, not spam. Businesses that master the art of helpful, engaging emails will continue to reap the benefits of this powerful marketing channel.

3/4 of my closest friends have left social media (specifically, IG/FB & Tik Tok) completely. The reason why is for another post, TL;DR: people realize the impact social media has on their mental health and are choosing to protect their peace. Here's why this matters for your nonprofit. 👇🏼👇🏼 You don't own your audience on social media, you are on rented land. If people are following your work on social, and then leave, can you still connect with them? I'm not saying you shouldn't focus on social, because there's so much opportunity there, especially for acquisition of new supporters. I'm saying that email list building needs to be your PRIORITY. Find a way to get people from social to email. Quick action steps: 1. Make email signup prominent on your website 2. Offer valuable lead magnets (i.e. petition, recipe book, quiz) 3. Collect emails at every touchpoint - think about your events, direct mail envelopes, virtual events. 4. Create compelling welcome sequences 5. Focus on relationship-building content Why email works: ✅ Direct connection with supporters ✅ You own your list (unlike social followers) ✅ Higher engagement rates ✅ More reliable for fundraising ✅ Not algorithm-dependent ✅ Meets supporters where they are Don't risk losing connection with supporters who care about your cause. Build that email list like your mission depends on it - because it does.
