Give, Give, Give, Give, Ask. I see this mistake constantly on LinkedIn. Connection requests that jump straight to "Can I get 15 minutes with you?" That's backwards. You're asking before you've created any value. (I’ve done something similar myself on more than one occasion.) Adam Grant's “5-minute Favor” principle shows us a better way: "You should be willing to do something that will take you five minutes or less for anybody." Start there. Create value first. Amy Porterfield takes it further. She builds entire relationships by solving immediate problems for people before ever making an ask. Here's what a Collective Leadership version of collaboration looks like: ✅ Share a useful resource ✅ Make a valuable introduction ✅ Offer genuine insight or feedback ✅ Amplify someone else's great work 🙏 Then make your small, reasonable ask Notice my pinky finger in the photo? Success stories that resonate directly address self-limiting beliefs.
