Explore top LinkedIn content from expert professionals.

Summary

Networking is a powerful strategy for finding top talent by building genuine connections and exploring diverse platforms where potential candidates are active. By proactively engaging in meaningful interactions, you can uncover opportunities that go beyond traditional job boards.

  • Strengthen your professional presence: Optimize your LinkedIn profile or relevant social media accounts to clearly showcase your expertise, values, and what you or your company offers.
  • Engage where talent gathers: Explore niche forums, industry-specific platforms, or social networks where potential candidates discuss industry challenges, share knowledge, or showcase their achievements.
  • Turn conversations into opportunities: Move beyond online interactions by arranging in-person meetings or calls to build trust and better understand the goals and skills of potential candidates.

Entreprenuers, here's how I made 100K+ from sliding into people's LinkedIn DMs 👇🏾 When I launched my first company helping media brands recruit diverse talent, I knew I had to get in front of the decision-makers who responsible for hiring. And where are they actively looking for talent? Right here on LinkedIn. Here’s the 5-step process I used to build trust, instantly showcase value, and turn cold DMs into real business deals: 1️⃣ Optimize Your LinkedIn Presence First Before reaching out, your profile should work for you. It needs to clearly communicate who you are, what you do, and why it matters. I recommend posting 3-5 posts about your brand, product, or industry so when decision-makers are snooping on your profile (and they will), they instantly understand your value. 2️⃣ Connect With the Right People I wasted too much time targeting junior employees because they felt more approachable. (I was a young 20-something who accidentally fell into entreprenuership). But what I quickly learned is that they don’t have buying power. Focus on connecting with department heads and senior decision-makers who can actually say “yes” to your offer. 3️⃣ Personalize Every Connection Request When sending connection requests, never leave the message blank. I kept mine short and sweet — just two sentences introducing who I was and why I wanted to connect. I NEVER hard sold. It was just a simple invite to explore how we could work together. People appreciate genuine curiosity. 4️⃣ Move the Conversation Offline Quickly LinkedIn is where the connections are made, but real deals happen off-platform. Once interest is established, aim to schedule a 30-minute intro call to dig deeper into their needs and explore solutions. Don’t let conversations linger too long in the DMs. 5️⃣ Follow Up, Fast. Speed matters. Your biggest mistake is delaying your follow up materials after a successful call. As soon as the meeting wraps, send over a well-prepared deck, one-pager, or demo that reinforces your offering and keeps the momentum going. When excitement is high, don’t give them time to second-guess or look for alternatives. Now all of this sounds great, but some of you may still be stuck at point 1. You may be thinking, “How do I clearly talk about my business and value?!” If that’s you, I'm hosting a FREE webinar to help you build a personal brand that helps you Get Noticed and Get Paid. Don’t let the sales people fool you, LinkedIn isn’t the best place to find great talent Most candidates aren’t active on LinkedIn, and honestly, I don’t blame them. LinkedIn is full of: ➡️ People bragging ➡️ People trying to sell you things you don’t want ➡️ Recruiters complaining about candidates ➡️ Hiring hot takes from Baby CEOs And don't get me wrong, LinkedIn is the top platform for networking, but if you want to find the true hidden gems in your industry, you have to hang out where they do. 💎 So, as a Recruiter, how do you figure out where to spend your time? I usually start by asking current employees where they hang out. Ask them: 📌 Where do they find answers to tricky problems they encounter at work? 📌 Where do they go to level up their skills in a particular area? 📌 How do they find out about the cool places to work at? 📌 Where do their friends go to brag or bash their employer? The answers to those questions have led me to some of the most interesting places where I've created content and found amazing people to hire! 👀 When you're a recruiter, creating content doesn't always look how you would expect it to. Some of my most effective "content" has been in the form of a comment on Reddit or a meme on Twitter. 💎 LinkedIn is a great tool for networking and building relationships with potential candidates, but it's not the best platform to find them. To recruit the best candidates, you need to use a variety of channels and focus on niche platforms relevant to your industry. There's life beyond LinkedIn. Go find your people where they're at! 🎯 #talentacquisition #linkedin #contentcreation

Top talent never sees the job boards. You're found with this recruitment strategy no one talks about 👇 The best candidates are often hidden from traditional job postings. As a recruiter, I've discovered three powerful strategies that top companies use to find exceptional talent: 1. In-person job fairs: While attendance has declined, these events remain invaluable. Meeting face-to-face allows both parties to gauge fit instantly. If you're urgently seeking work, don't overlook this opportunity. 2. Referrals: Over my 9 years at Waffle House, 50% of my hires came through referrals. Someone would say a position wasn't right for them, but they knew the perfect candidate. These connections are golden. If you're in business and not leveraging referrals, you're missing out. 3. Social media: Surprisingly, not everyone's on LinkedIn. Recruiters are increasingly turning to Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok to find talent. Creating content on these platforms can attract both job seekers and opportunities. Remember, the most coveted positions often never make it to job boards. They're filled through these less conventional methods. By tapping into these strategies, you're not just finding a job - you're positioning yourself for opportunities others might never see. Expand your networking efforts beyond the usual channels. Your next career move could be just a conversation away.
