Did you know that you’re just one email away from turning a prospect into an enrolled student? Email marketing has the highest ROI when it comes to university admissions. It can revive your admissions funnel even when leads start drying up toward the end of the season. Yet, many universities either overlook it or fail to use it effectively. Where Most Email Campaigns Go Wrong Most email marketers focus only on open rates and grabbing attention. While important, the real foundation of successful email marketing starts much earlier. A Better Approach to Admissions Email Marketing ✅ Start Early – Build your email list at the beginning of the next cycle. Target students in their pre-final year of high school (for undergrad) or pre-final year of university (for postgrad). ✅ Move Prospects from Unawareness to Awareness – Before the main admission season, focus on nurturing students with valuable content, guiding them toward awareness of your university. ✅ Improve Open Rates Before Scaling Up – By the time peak admissions arrive, your email list should be highly engaged, with an open rate of at least 1 in 3 emails. ✅ Focus on Conversions at the Right Time – Once your list is refined, shift your efforts to moving students through the consideration stage and ultimately to enrollment. Email Content is the Game-Changer 🔹 Your Sender Email Matters – Ensure your email ID looks trustworthy and recognizable. 🔹 A/B Test Everything – Use data to optimize subject lines, email timing, and content. 🔹 CTAs Should Be Subtle Yet Effective – Instead of obvious "Click Here to Apply" buttons, embed CTAs within images and drive prospects to an organic page (your website) before leading them to the application page. 🔹 Make Students Eager for Your Next Email – If they’re waiting for your next update, you’re doing it right! Final Thought Email marketing isn’t just about blasting promotions. It’s about building relationships, nurturing trust, and strategically guiding students through their decision-making journey. Are you leveraging email marketing effectively for your admissions strategy? 🚀 Let’s discuss in the comments!

99% of people who want to start a business, never do. Heres how to start a business, with zero ££. When I started my business, I didn’t have a war chest of investor capital. Instead, I focused on collecting emails and bootstrapping. I was able to secure 1,000 pre-orders before even having any external funding in place. Collecting emails is one of the most powerful tools at your disposal. It allows you to: - Validate your product early on - Build a community of supporters - Generate sales before your product even hits the market - Bootstrapping may seem tough, but it gives you the freedom to grow on your terms Every sale, every customer email collected is progress toward your vision. So don’t wait for a big break - start now, leverage what you have, and let your momentum build the business. I started whilst I was studying at university, to become an optometrist - call it a "side hustle" at the time. If you’re thinking of starting something, remember: action beats waiting. The right time to start is now. 🚀 -------- ♻ Share this to help future founders. 📌 I'm Dhruvin Patel, I write about performing your best at work and entrepreneurship

As marketers, we often aim to turn every visit into a sale. That approach might work for inexpensive items, but for bigger purchases—like a lawnmower—buyers rarely decide on their first visit. A smarter strategy? Use that first visit to capture their email. If your pop-up message aligns with where they are in their buying journey, they’re far more likely to sign up. I’ve seen countless pop-ups offering discounts in exchange for emails, but I’ve never seen one take this approach. PS: This is a mock-up I created, but I wish more sites would use something like it.
