Cultivate an environment of trust, and remember, a friendly smile can work wonders. 😊 2. "Two Truths and a Lie" Icebreakers: Meetings don't have to be all business. Start a meeting with a fun icebreaker like "Two Truths and a Lie." It's a fantastic way to get to know your team on a personal level. 🤥 3. Employee Spotlight: Regularly feature an employee of the week or month. Share their achievements, interests, and a fun fact. Are you the light at work? . . . I started the week off by addressing the cloud of negativity at work. All week I provided tips on how to deal with negative people, bullies, unethical requests and how to handle your mistakes in a positive way. Today, I want to show you how that positivity culminates with you being the light others need. All of our work can sometimes feel like a grind, but it doesn't have to be that way! You have the power to be a beacon of positivity and inspiration in your workplace. These steps are what has helped me grow as a leader and I know they will help you as well. Lead with Enthusiasm. I love what I do! I get excited about the ever-changing opportunities I have to work with leaders who want to get better. You should get excited about what you do too. If you approach your work with enthusiasm and a positive attitude, your energy will be contagious and uplift your colleagues. They say enthusiasm breeds enthusiasm. Offer Support. One of the greatest things I learned was to be a helping hand and a listening ear. For you, offering your assistance when someone is struggling and providing emotional support when needed will show them you care. Celebrate Achievements. Everyone loves the “atta-boy.” If you win an award, give credit to your team. They will embrace it! Always recognize and celebrate both big and small achievements that they experience, even if they are not work related. Your willingness to acknowledge them will foster a culture of appreciation that will have a ripple effect that can’t be denied. Practice Empathy. I started out with nothing, so I can understand and can relate to the challenges team members face. Being empathetic towards someone can make a world of difference in their day. They will respect you for it. Lead by Example. I cannot say this one enough. Too many times leaders say, “do what I say, not what I do.” That my friends is not leadership, it’s a dictatorship. By doing what you say you are going to do and living a positive life, one of professionalism, ethics, strong morals and values, your actions can and will inspire others to do the same. Being a light at work doesn't mean ignoring challenges but rather facing them with a positive and solution-oriented mindset. Together, we can create a workplace that radiates with positivity and success! Go make a difference in someone’s life today! - - - - - - #AuthenticLeadership #generosity #higherauthority - - - - - - 🔔🔔 Follow Me for common sense advice on #AuthenticLeadership and life. 🌍✨ Leading With Kindness, November 13th, and Every Day ✨🌍 Did You Know --- World Kindness Day (November 13th) was introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement with an emphasis on the global importance of kindness, aiming to bridge divides of politics, race, religion, and gender. The purpose of World Kindness Day is to encourage and highlight acts of kindness in communities, fostering a belief that even the smallest act can have an impact on not just our personal lives, but in the workplace as well. Kindness creates a ripple effect that positively influences our work environment, team dynamics, and organizational culture. Here are 5 simple ways to infuse kindness into the workplace and unlock its incredible impact as a leader: 1️⃣ Express Gratitude: Take a moment to appreciate your colleagues' hard work and contributions. A simple "thank you" or acknowledgment can go a long way in fostering a positive atmosphere. 2️⃣ Active Listening: Truly listen to your colleagues. Practice empathy, and make an effort to understand their perspectives. This not only strengthens relationships but also promotes a culture of openness and collaboration. 3️⃣ Random Acts of Kindness: Surprise your coworkers with small gestures, whether it's bringing in treats, leaving uplifting notes, or offering a helping hand. These unexpected acts create a sense of camaraderie and boost morale. 4️⃣ Support Work-Life Balance: Encourage a healthy work-life balance by respecting boundaries and acknowledging personal time. This contributes to a more sustainable and compassionate work environment. 5️⃣ **Celebrate Achievements**: Recognize and celebrate both big and small achievements. Acknowledging accomplishments fosters a positive and motivating workplace culture. The Return on Investment (ROI) for kindness in the workplace is immeasurable. Here's why: 🌐 **Enhanced Team Collaboration**: Kindness builds trust and fosters stronger relationships among team members, leading to improved collaboration and productivity. 📈 **Increased Employee Satisfaction**: A kind and supportive work environment enhances job satisfaction, contributing to higher employee retention and overall well-being. 💡 **Innovation and Creativity**: When employees feel valued and supported, they are more likely to share ideas and contribute to a culture of innovation, driving the organization forward. 🌟 **Positive Company Reputation**: Kindness extends beyond the office walls. Acts of kindness, whether in community outreach or corporate social responsibility, contribute to a positive company image. As we invest in kindness, we not only create a harmonious workplace but also contribute to the long-term success and sustainability 🌈 #WorldKindnessDay #WorkplaceKindness #PositiveWorkCulture #EmployeeWellbeing #WorkplaceWellbeing #Cutlure #EmployeExperience

🔓 Have you ever considered the impact a simple "good morning" can have in someone's life, the team's dynamics, the organization's culture? Reflecting on my former daily office routine, I've realized something significant. Each morning, as we exchange the usual "good morning, how are you?" with colleagues, most respond with the usual "good, thanks." There were some exceptions, like Mark with his uplifting, "I'm crushing it!". However, there's sometimes that one individual who hesitates, hinting at "things could be better" or "not so good." In these moments, how do you react? Do you offer a sympathetic "oh, I'm sorry" and continue on your way? Or do you take a moment to actually listen, maybe asking, "what's going on?" or "can I help with anything?" It's surprising how these simple questions, coupled with a willingness to listen, can profoundly impact someone's day, week, or even their life. So, the next time you greet a colleague while entering the office, I encourage you to remember this post. Pause for a moment. Engage genuinely. Listen attentively. This small act of kindness doesn't just potentially uplift someone else's day; it can enrich yours too. Let's strive to make a meaningful difference each day, one conversation at a time. 💪

Have you ever met anyone who doesn't like to be called "good-lookin"? I doubt it. Earlier this week at Starbucks, there was no line behind me and I wasn't in a huge hurry so I was intentional with asking the barista how her week was going and what was she most excited about in life right now. I don't know about you, but I've had jobs at which the only reason I was there was because I had to have some money. She wasn't unpleasant, but I could tell she was weary. It didn't cost me anything else to try and encourage her. After I ordered my coffee the barista asked for my name. I told her she could call me whatever she liked. I wasn't flirting. Check out my cup to see what she named me. Of course, I had to know what she meant by "good lookin" so I asked. She wasn't flirting either. She said, "you are the first person this week who has really seen me and interacted with me as a person. I think that makes you a beautiful person." Kindness and Encouragement often boomerang. Three tips I'm doing my best to put into practice daily that help me be "good lookin" in my personal and professional life: ---> 3 Foot Rule If someone is within three feet of me and I can make eye contact, I try my best to make conversation with them. I try to encourage and inspire them. Life is often hard and exhausting. We all appreciate when others give us encouragement and confidence. ---> Save your complaining for your dog, your lover, or your therapist. Almost no one else wants to hear it. Even the dog will hang his head if you go on long enough. Yes, venting may help a little. But thinking and speaking positively makes you more desirable to be around and will take you places whining never will. ---> Be kind. Unless you are defending yourself or loved one's life, always be kind. Even when someone is not a great fit for their role and you have to let them go, be kind. When a coworker continues to struggle and you are barely getting by with your own responsibilities, find a way to be kind. When a client deserves for you to fire them, be kind. Kind is always good-lookin. What other ways can people set themselves apart as good-lookin?

At some point in time, we may find ourselves working under high levels of anxiety, battling waves of uncertainty, and grappling with low morale. We're all working to navigate through the fog. And in such circumstances, we realize that kindness is not a luxury, it's a necessity. Now more than ever, it's crucial to foster an environment of empathy, mutual respect, and understanding in our workplaces. No act of kindness, whether it’s small or big, is ever wasted. Shallow check-ins can create a facade of connection. Next time, instead of a Simple ‘How are you’, Try “On a scale of 1-10, how is your day going? Instead of leaving a response at “I’m doing great” ; deepen connection by asking ; “What was the best part that made it so great” And if you’re team is in a slump; do ask “Is there anything that I can do to support you in getting through this moment?” In a world where you can be anything, let's continue to choose to be kind, take intentional steps to lift the spirits of others, and let them know they are valued Workplaces filled with kindness are not only happier but also more productive. So, let's take a moment to acknowledge the power of kindness and make it an integral part of our work culture. How are you promoting care and kindness in your team culture? #WorkplaceWellness #ChooseKindness #Productivity
