This one’s a pattern interrupt. I've sent a GIF of a guy standing in the rain...soaked, waiting. No words. No pressure. Just a quiet nudge. The person replied within minutes. ✅ Use it when: You’ve been ghosted or left on read and want to show up without pushing. 🔹 3. The Shift Sometimes the original thread is dead. So… pivot. This past week, I've had 4 people tell me that they are getting crickets 🦗 when they follow up on a thoughtful pitch or proposal. The way I see it: 🤝 Relationships > Reminders. People are busy. Life happens. They’ll reply if, and when, you become a priority. So how do you become one? Instead of blasting a “Just following up!” email, try one of these options: 1. Lead with value. Say: “I saw this article and thought of you based on our last conversation, especially point #3.” Show you’re listening. 2. Ask something simple. Try: “Would it be helpful if I sent a version of the proposal with fewer deliverables to start?” or “Should I circle back in a few weeks?” Make it easy to say yes or no. 3. Use gratitude instead of pressure. Try: “I understand if now isn’t the right time. Just wanted to check if this is still of interest before I close the loop on my end.” 4. Offer something new. If they didn't bite the first time, offer a refreshed idea or update: “We just wrapped a similar project for [company], and the results were excellent.
