Here's how I turned my passion, into profit. (well, sorta) I love painting 🖌️ but let's face it. Making a living off painting, ain't easy. So instead, I learned design (way more market value). Specifically, apparel design, which enabled me to build an e-commerce brand (Greekify) that now supports my painting passion. I like this approach for 2 reasons: 1. It takes the "pressure" off, allowing me to create for "fun" on the side. 2. I still get to use my passions every day, without worrying about bills. The key, is figuring out how to translate your passion into a skill that is actually "worth" something in the market. For me, that skill was photoshop, branding, and apparel design. For you, it might be something else. Passionate musician? 🎵 → Learn Ableton or music production software, and ghost write for artists. Passionate writer? ✍️ → Study LinkedIn content and start a ghost writing agency. Passionate photographer? 📸 → Learn video and start a content creation agency. You get what I mean... (there's unlimited examples here) Ultimately, it's up to you to figure out your unique "cross-section" between passion and business (that's the hard part). But once you do, you'll wake up each day fired up to work. And believe me, it's worth the effort of figuring out (beats being in a job you hate for life). We spend way too much of our lives working, to not be excited about it each day. In summary: 🎯 1. Identify your passion. 💰 2. Find a monetizable skill that aligns with that passion. 🙌 3. Get SUPER good at that skill, then watch as doors open for you. For those who've translated their passion into their career, would love to hear how you did in the comments! ↓ _______ P.S. Still have questions? DM me... I'm always happy to help out (I know it's not easy... I started at 10 so got a lucky head start) 🎨✌ #entrepreneurship #creativity #design

"Every growing organization ultimately reaches a point where passion is simply not enough." When launching my business as an EOS Implementer and then my process program for EOS companies, I used to 🔥🔥🔥 the candle at both ends to learn, grow, expand. It was fun, but it wasn't sustainable. As I grew my team, like most entrepreneurs, I had to transition from pure passion to structured processes. 1. Scalability: As your business expands, the informal systems that worked during its infancy will no longer suffice. Implementing robust processes ensures that operations can scale without sacrificing quality or efficiency. 2. Consistency: Passion drives innovation and motivation, but processes ensure that every client interaction, product delivery, and service meets high standards consistently. This consistency is what builds trust and reliability in your brand. 3. Empowering Teams: While passion motivates, well-defined processes empower your team to perform their best. Clear guidelines give employees a roadmap to success, allowing them to innovate within boundaries and contribute to the organization’s goals effectively. 4. Mitigating Risks: As businesses grow, the stakes get higher. Structured processes help identify potential risks and establish protocols to mitigate them. This proactive approach is crucial for sustaining long-term growth. Transforming passion into a sustainable business model requires embracing the discipline of processes. It’s not just about maintaining what you have; it’s about setting up frameworks that propel you forward. Has your organization made this pivotal shift? #BusinessGrowth #Leadership #ProcessImprovement

Years ago, one of my colleagues was drowning in work. 80+ hours a week. A 2-hour commute. Missing his kid’s milestones. He was earning well, but it was costing him everything. And one day, he opened up to me — his marriage was now on the line. In these situations, I always ask, “Are you venting, or seeking a real solution?” He was serious — he needed a way out. So we talked money. Turns out, he could make do with 75-80% of his current salary. And he loved planning events. Any size. Anywhere. I reminded him of his knack for it. He’d even hosted hit parties at home. My suggestion? Turn this into a business— Start small. Weekend events. Meanwhile, pivot at work— Move to a remote, customer support role. Less hours, no commute. That gave him more family time, and more time to grow his business. So week later, he switched roles. And a month later, he hosted his first event. 18 months on, he quit his job to run his event planning business full-time. Moral of the story? Invest in yourself. Create work that lets you get paid for your passion. We only get one shot at this life thing— So don’t waste time on what doesn’t bring joy.

I don’t always line up with Mark Cuban, but the other day he said something that made me pause and nod. When asked about the worst piece of career advice he ever received was, he responded: “‘Follow your passions. No. Follow your effort. No one quits anything they’re good at. If I followed my passion, I’d still be trying to play professional basketball.” I’ll add my twist: Look for the intersection of the two. And, it may not be the industry/product you’re passionate about, but the situation. For instance, learning how to improve my leadership is where the effort went and leading a team of smart, encouraging, client-first teammates is a passion. The industry mattered less. Having said that, getting to do both those things while helping our clients set the right price for their value and then get it through better negotiations? That’s the trifecta.

A Heart in Business. ❤️ A curse or a gift? 💛 💜 💗 Can you care too much? About people? About optics? How do you balance your personal emotions with the practical realities of business decision-making? Having too much heart as an entrepreneur comes with its challenges. One downside of having too much heart is the potential for emotional overwhelm. As an entrepreneur with a lot of passion and heart, I need to be mindful not to let my emotions overwhelm me or cloud my judgment. While I am driven by caring deeply and wanting to help others, I have to balance that with logic and strategy. Additionally, my strong emotional connection to my business means I often feel accountable for every single success and setback. This constant pressure can lead to burnout over time. At times, I find myself struggling with finding a balance between genuinely caring for others' well-being and considering the optics of my decisions, decisions made from feelings rather than facts, and fearing that my empathy might be misconstrued as a sign of weakness. However, despite these risks, leading with heart fuels my purpose. I genuinely care about making a positive impact on people's lives. I've realized authentic care and consideration for others can build meaningful connections and reputation. Simply put; People know I really care. My empathy allows me to form profound connections with customers, employees and stakeholders. I've come to realize that leading with heart is not a flaw but a gift. By embracing it with wisdom I turned caring into an advantage. It is in navigating this fine line between empathy and pragmatism that I find my true strength as an entrepreneur. I believe that genuinely caring for people and their needs will ultimately contribute to both personal fulfillment and business success. A Knowledge GEM 💎 "How Passion and Project Management Impact Success in Client & Vendor Partnerships" When working with clients, success is often determined by how effectively we plan and execute projects, manage expectations, and adjust our attitudes towards the work and the partnerships we forge. I've always been passionate about the challenges that come with projects. This fervor isn't just about enthusiasm; it's about believing in a merchant and wanting their project to soar. This passion is a double-edged sword—it drives success but can also create a 'reality distortion field.' In our eagerness to please, achieve, and succeed, we sometimes miss critical signs: a project that isn't the right fit, a client that doesn't align with our values, or unrealistic timelines and budgets. Managing expectations is as crucial as managing the project itself. Despite the risks, sometimes we pull through. Other times, we face setbacks. And occasionally, saying no to the wrong opportunity paves the way for the right one. These experiences teach us invaluable lessons about the delicate balance between passion and pragmatism in project management. It's a dance between what we want to achieve and what can realistically be achieved, between our desire for success and the practical constraints we face. I'd love to hear your thoughts: How do you balance passion and practicality in your projects? Have you ever faced a 'reality distortion field' in your work? What strategies do you use to manage expectations in your client / vendor partnerships? Let's start a conversation about how we can harness our passion effectively while staying grounded in the realities of project management. #MerchantPartnerships #ProjectManagement #BusinessSuccess #MMFL24 Looking forward to your insights!
