If the message isn’t being reinforced at every level, doubt and confusion creep in. It’s not redundant to repeat the strategy. It’s essential. Leaders need to 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻—𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻—until it’s obvious, boring, and second nature. That’s when it sticks. Here are 7 tactics I rely on for consistent, clear communication: 1 // 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀: Define essential points to reinforce and repeat regularly. Consistency = the simplest habit with the biggest impact in change communications. Yet, too few do it and think it's only worth communicating when they have grand news to report. But absence of news = assumed bad news. Best examples of engaging consistency in change communications I've seen in 2024: 🤳 "Fridays with Fred" - COO going live from wherever he is every Friday lunch hour to talk about the week, what's been going on and what's on his mind. 🎬 "Morning Minutes at XXX" - a 2-3 minute video released every morning at 9am, from different people who are part of the transformation in different ways. Monday from the CMO, Tuesday from an AE, Wednesday from the finance intern, and so on. 🎙️ All forms of internal podcast series - there's no better combination of consistency and intimacy than weekly podcast shows targeted to different audiences in your organization.
