Faith and recycling might seem worlds apart but at Lien Tri Temple, they come together beautifully. In Melbourne's West, Abbot Thích Phước Thể of Lien Tri Temple has inspired his community to collect and return containers through Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme. “Community members often look for ways to contribute and donate to the temple. Sometimes they bring food, flowers or even old furniture. Now I ask them to bring their eligible containers." says the Abbott. The result? Lien Tri Temple has raised $1000 and counting. At CDS Vic, we love seeing how a simple act, like returning eligible containers, can create a ripple effect - helping the planet and strengthening communities along the way.

From November 1 2023, Victorians will get 10c from each eligible drink container, building our circular economy
About us
Victoria's Container Deposit Scheme (CDS Vic) has arrived. The State-wide scheme aims to provide a large network of more than 500 Refund Points, where Victorians can exchange eligible containers for a 10c refund. With a goal of saving millions of drink containers from landfill, CDS Vic will help to build Victoria's circular economy, whilst putting money into the pockets of Victorians, communities and charities. That's a lot of change.

Victoria's Container Deposit Scheme reposted this
Cricket Victoria has announced a new three-year partnership with Victoria's Container Deposit Scheme (CDS Vic), strengthening its commitment to sustainability across the game. The partnership will see CDS Vic become a major partner of Victoria’s Sheffield Shield team, with its logo to feature on the 2025/26 playing shirts. Beyond the elite level, the collaboration will encourage community and Premier cricket clubs to register with the scheme, helping them raise valuable funds by collecting and redeeming eligible containers ♻️ Funds raised from containers collected at the CitiPower Centre will also be donated through the Cricket Victoria Foundation to support community and wellbeing initiatives. Together, Cricket Victoria and CDS Vic are turning recycling into a winning partnership for both cricket and the environment! 🏏 🗞️ Read More: https://tr.ee/QloW79

A partnership with purpose! Awesome to celebrate #GreenSportsDay at the MCG by welcoming Victoria's Container Deposit Scheme as an official partner of the Melbourne Stars' #TeamGreen sustainability initiatives. Every container we recycle this season will provide a 10-cent refund that is donated to the Cricket Victoria Foundation, which funds programs to make cricket more accessible in the community. Thank you to Meghan Mayman and Marianne Doyle for your support and look forward to seeing what we can achieve together!
