Transparency Report: First Half of 2022

Transparency Report: First Half of 2022

Today we published our Transparency Report for the first half of 2022. The report covers government requests and includes the community report that shows the action we took to remove fake accounts and content that violates our Professional Community Policies

More people than ever are coming to LinkedIn to share their views, opinions, ideas, and experience about the changing world around us. We continue to see record engagement from our more than 875 million members. While the vast majority of conversations are respectful and constructive, we saw an increase in hate speech and other abusive content during this period.

Here are a few takeaways from this report:

  • We removed about 35% more fake accounts compared to the previous period, with the majority stopped proactively by our automated defenses (95%) and the rest stopped by manual review. This is an ongoing priority for us and we will continue enhancing our automated systems and rolling out new features to support authentic experiences.
  • The amount of violent or graphic and hateful or derogatory content removed increased during this period.  We attribute this to increased engagement, overall, as well as external, world events, such as the war in Ukraine. Improved automated defenses also contributed to the increase here.
  • The misinformation numbers went down for this reporting period.  Removing misinformation nonetheless remains a priority since it’s core to our goal of helping our members engage with trustworthy content.

We work everyday to keep LinkedIn safe, trusted, and professional. To learn more about our ongoing efforts please visit the Transparency Center.
