The Test That Can Save Your Life

The Test That Can Save Your Life

Beyond the Hype

Over the past year, one preventive test has been rising in popularity — discussed by longevity doctors, business executives, and health influencers alike: the Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) Score, also known as the Calcium Score Test.

Unlike the DEXA Scan or VO2 Max test — which reveal how your body is performing — this one looks into the future more directly. As someone with a family history of high cholesterol and heart disease, I wanted to ask a fundamental question: What is my cardiovascular risk?

Five Minutes

The Calcium Score Test uses a quick, non-invasive CT scan to measure the buildup of calcified plaque in the coronary arteries — the vessels that feed your heart with oxygen-rich blood. It takes only a few minutes, but the insight it provides can be life-changing.

I was in and out in about five minutes. I’ll admit — I was distracted and a little OCD about the experience because I was doing it as a customer of my own company, Fitnescity Health. I couldn’t help obsessing over every detail. Still, the test itself is very chill and over before you know it. You can even get the results immediately.

When I received mine and saw that my score was 0 — meaning no evidence of calcified plaque and low risk for my age and gender — I felt both relieved and grateful. A zero score doesn’t mean I’m immune to heart disease, but it’s reassuring. It also gives me a clear baseline to track over time.

If your score is higher than zero — especially if you’re on the younger side — it’s an early warning sign that plaque is forming in your arteries.

The test can reveal silent risk years before symptoms appear, giving you and your doctor the opportunity to make changes — through lifestyle, medication, or both — to prevent future heart attacks or other cardiovascular events.

Why It Matters

What makes this test so powerful is its simplicity. It turns something invisible — plaque buildup — into life-saving information

Cardiologists often call it one of the strongest predictors of future heart disease, even more so than cholesterol levels.

If you’ve ever wondered how healthy your heart really is, this test deserves a place on your list. It takes five minutes. It could change your future.
