Platform Hub, Argo CD, and a modern process editor
This is an exciting month at Octopus with the launch of Platform Hub. We also have a sneak peek at Argo in Octopus and a modernized process editor for you to use. Plus, we have some thoughts on AI deployment best practices and some helpful ways to measure platform satisfaction. Read on for more.
Platform Hub is coming
When you wanted to scale platform delivery, you used to have to build everything in-house with scripts and templates that eventually drift and slow teams down. But with our new Platform Hub, you can define reusable process templates that bring consistency and compliance to every deployment without slowing developers down.
Take a sneak peek at Argo CD in Octopus
Our team is working to deliver the first version of Argo CD orchestration in Octopus later this year. But you don’t have to wait—if you use Octopus Cloud, you can try it today by joining our private alpha testing program. Current alpha capabilities include:
- Embedding Argo CD in Octopus processes
- Updating container images or generating full manifests with templates as part of your deployment
- Commit changes directly to the repository, or raise them via a PR
A live dashboard for deployed Argo Applications is also on the way. If you already use Argo CD or plan to adopt it soon, join the alpha programme and share your feedback. This is your chance to help shape a major new capability in Octopus, and we greatly value your input.
A modernized process editor
We’ve redesigned the process overview and sidebar UI in the Process Editor to improve readability, structure, and control. You can quickly scan and edit your process sequence with less clutter and a clearer hierarchy. Parent-child and rolling steps are now grouped and collapsible, making complex workflows easier to follow and edit. We’ve also updated the styling for better contrast, spacing, and alignment. For DevOps and application engineers, this update reduces friction, helps you move faster, and gives you greater control over complex processes.
AI deployments best practices
AI and DevOps best practices naturally align. This article examines how automation, testing, transparency, and DevEx help teams focus on valuable solutions over menial tasks.
Platform Engineering metrics that matter: Satisfaction
Platform satisfaction drives developer adoption. This article shows how measuring it through NPS, CSAT, and CES scores provides actionable insights to reduce friction and improve platform effectiveness. Read the post >
