Introducing enterprise AppGen: Prompt apps into existence
Welcome to The Mallet: Retool’s newsletter. Every month, we’ll bring you important product updates, tips for building, and news from the community.
On October 7 at our first-ever Retool Summit, we launched enterprise AppGen—AI-assisted development where you can build production-ready apps in your environment, governed by your standards. We believe AppGen will power a new age of building custom software, and a new generation of builders.
In our 2025 Builder Report, we found that 48% of non-engineering respondents are already building software on their own. We’re excited to be the platform that helps more builders solve the problems they’re closest to, and more engineers become architects.
Here are a few resources to help you get the most out of our AppGen capabilities and understand how, and why, we built it.
