🤖 ICYMI: Our two bold steps into the agentic age

A new era of digital commerce is taking shape, with AI-powered agents beginning to coordinate and execute actions on behalf of users.

As this shift towards “agentic payments” accelerates, one thing is certain: the infrastructure underpinning it must be secure, robust, and built for the future.

This should provide some helpful context around our two major announcements this week:

  • The launch of Mesh Wallet-as-a-Service, which allows platforms to instantly spin up self-custody wallets tied to popular logins like Google, Apple, and Instagram.
  • Our support of Google’s new Agent Payments Protocol (AP2), a new framework that will power agent-led payments.

Note: You can read more about AP2 in Fortune, Yahoo!, TechCrunch, or on Google’s blog.

That’s the “what”, now here’s the “why”...

  • Mesh WaaS will soon become a foundational building block for autonomous payments. Once activated, it enables the full range of on-chain capabilities like swaps, deposits, and transfers, essentially laying the groundwork for agents to be flexible in the scope of their actions.

  • Google’s AP2, meanwhile, sets the standard for safety in this burgeoning space. We take a security-first approach to everything we do, and we think that’s especially important in an emerging field like this. Plus, Mesh can leverage Google’s protocol to orchestrate agentic payments on crypto rails.

Mesh is venturing into this new frontier because we believe the convergence of crypto and agentic payments is inevitable. Legacy financial infrastructure was built for a different era and it shows–it’s rigid and slow, and it’s ill-suited for anything that happens in real-time. Crypto rails offer the speed and flexibility needed to power autonomous finance, and Mesh - unlike any other company in the market - is built to support deep interoperability at every level.

When agents take the wheel, the systems underneath should be resilient and future-proof. We’re here to ensure that’s what gets delivered.
