Create Stunning Product Visuals with AI: A Step-by-Step Workflow

Our graphic designer is away. Leonardo AI is the sub for the day… and yes, we brought a movie.

Here's a look at how we used Leonardo.ai to craft a luxury product animation from concept to cinematic visual.

Step 1: The Still Image | Lucid Origin

We used the Lucid Origin model to generate a stock photo-style image. The goal was a hyper-realistic, professional product photo. For a good result, the prompt has to be detailed, specifying everything from the subject (a luxury perfume bottle with surrealist florals) to the technical camera and lighting setup.

  • Model: Lucid Origin
  • Style: Stock photo
  • Generation mode: Ultra
  • Aspect ratio: 2:3
  • Size: Large

Prompt we used:

Subject A luxury perfume bottle displayed as the central hero, surrounded by professional surrealist flower arrangements of delicate roses, lilacs, and peonies on stems. The florals embrace the bottle naturally, appearing as if they are growing around it, with water droplets catching the light like tiny jewels.

Structure & Camera Setup Camera Body: Full-frame DSLR or mirrorless (Canon R5 / Sony A7R IV). Hero Shot Lens: 50mm prime at f/1.8 for shallow depth, rendering the background into soft plum haze. Detail Lens: 100mm macro for razor-sharp branding and intricate petal textures. Motion Option: Motorized slider for a subtle inward dolly shot, giving a sense of unfolding blossoms.

Lighting Setup Key Light: Large octa softbox (diffused), high at 45° to the right, angled to highlight glass facets and gold cap without harsh reflections. Back/Rim Light: Fresnel spotlight or narrow strip LED from behind, creating a luminous edge on both the perfume bottle and translucent petals. Accent Light: Small spotlight with deep magenta gel feathered onto the backdrop, creating a glowing aura. Practical: Light mist sprayed on petals; droplets sparkle under rim light for jewel-like detail.

Backdrop & Surface Backdrop: Velvet or matte painted canvas in deep plum, lit into a gradient (dark wine edges into glowing berry center). Surface: Glossy plum-tinted acrylic sheet with subtle mirrored reflection of the bottle.

Step 2: The Upscale | Ultra Upscale

With the base image ready, it was time to enhance the details. We used the Ultra Upscale feature with a creativity strength of 4. This process sharpened every element—the water droplets on the petals, the texture of the glass, and the fine print on the bottle—without introducing unwanted artifacts. It elevated the image from good to production-quality.

Step 3: The Animation | Kling 2.5 Turbo

A little motion is all it takes to bring an image to life and grab your audience's attention. We took the upscaled image into Kling 2.5 Turbo to animate it. The objective was subtle, elegant motion. The prompt focused on creating a refined, romantic mood reminiscent of a high-end fragrance campaign.

Prompt we used:

The petals sway gently and gracefully in slow motion, moving softly as if caught by a delicate breeze. The motion is elegant and subtle, never exaggerated. In the background, a faint atmospheric mist drifts very slowly, adding depth without forming smoke clouds. The bottle itself remains perfectly still, with crystal-clear liquid inside — no bubbles, no movement. Lighting is refined and editorial: a soft diffused key light at 45° highlights the glass and petals, while a subtle rim light glistens along the edges of the bottle. A faint plum glow radiates softly from behind. The perfume bottle shimmers gently across its surface as the light catches it, adding luxury sparkle. The mood is romantic, refined, and cinematic, like a Dior or Gucci Bloom campaign. Camera: 50mm prime, shallow depth of field, smooth dolly inward for cinematic focus. Details: Petals sway subtly in slow motion, soft wind effect. Mist behind moves very slowly, barely perceptible, no heavy smoke. Bottle remains still and sharp, with delicate surface glisten. No movement or bubbles in the perfume liquid. Flowers open naturally, unfolding in graceful slow motion.
