In the third quarter of this year, Shell’s production in the Gulf of America reached its highest quarterly level since 2005. The performance followed the successful ramp-up this year of Whale – Shell’s newest deep-water platform. Whale is the second of three planned oil and gas platforms with a similar design and Shell’s 14th deep-water development in the region, where our production has some of the lowest greenhouse gas intensity in the world for producing oil.
