In case you missed it…
- Shell, together with Sunlink Energies and Resources Limited, has taken a final investment decision on the HI gas project in offshore Nigeria. When completed, the project will supply 350 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (roughly 60,000 barrels of oil equivalent) at peak production to Nigeria LNG, which produces and exports liquefied natural gas (LNG) to global markets.
- The completion in Qatar of Shell’s largest-ever turnaround – the planned shutdown of a plant for maintenance, inspection or upgrading – brings alive what prioritising safety at Shell means in practice.
Spotlight
In the third quarter of this year, Shell’s production in the Gulf of America reached its highest quarterly level since 2005. The performance followed the successful ramp-up this year of Whale – Shell’s newest deep-water platform. Whale is the second of three planned oil and gas platforms with a similar design and Shell’s 14th deep-water development in the region, where our production has some of the lowest greenhouse gas intensity in the world for producing oil.
