Only Good AI Strategy Turns Promise Into Reality. Here’s How to Build One.

AI strategy can’t be set and frozen — nor seen and executed in isolation.

AI has the potential to transform markets, business models and competitive landscapes. To succeed, your AI strategy must be dynamic, evolving alongside your business priorities, market trends and the risk landscape.

More specifically, alignment between AI and business strategy must be bidirectional. Business goals shape your AI agenda, but emerging AI capabilities can — and should — influence business direction. This approach is critical to moving beyond the pedestrian use of AI and realizing its value as a game changer.

5 Steps CFOs Can Take to Maximize ROI From AI Initiatives

As AI integration becomes mainstream, CFOs are facing a reality check on ROI.

Nearly three in five finance teams are piloting or fully implementing AI use cases — and two-thirds of CFOs say they’re more optimistic about AI’s value than a year ago. However, many CFOs also acknowledge a major gap between AI vision and reality: Only 7% of finance leaders see a high impact from their AI use cases. That, along with wildly inaccurate AI cost estimates and high overruns, could lead to abandonment of more than half of AI pilots over the next few years.

Stop “Managing” Organizational Change. Do This Instead.

The real differentiator is how you help your organization adapt — not just react.

Across industries, organizations are contending with overlapping pressures: digital acceleration, AI adoption, sustainability mandates and evolving workforce expectations, to name just a few. Change is no longer episodic or neatly contained within a single initiative. Instead, it has become a continuous condition — one that calls for new mindsets and approaches to leadership.

Completely agree with this perspective, thank you for sharing, Gartner. A strong AI strategy isn’t just about innovation and ideas; it’s about integrity. Without trusted, consistent data foundations, even the most advanced AI will produce inconsistent results. That’s why governance tools play such a critical role. A fantastic read👏

Well said. The gap between AI optimism and real ROI is the biggest threat to sustainable adoption. Technology is only half the battle, integration, cost control, and outcome measurement complete it.

Gartner’s right: culture matters most when it shapes daily work. But in the era of enterprise AI, that means addressing the human system that drives—or derails—execution.
