5 must reads for the weekend

We keep our ear to the ground for the interesting stats, insights and discussion points you need to feel in the know and shape the future with confidence.

 1. Mindset shift

The Strategic Growth Forum is more important than you think. It’s not just a conference, it’s a catalyst for businesses and entrepreneurs. At this point, we know that growth isn’t guaranteed; it’s earned. It’s earned through adaptability, innovation, and bold decision-making. SGF helps leaders turn uncertainty into opportunity, and the conversations this year reinforced a critical truth: entrepreneurial thinking is no longer optional. It’s the engine behind transformation in companies of every size. This is why the Strategic Growth Forum matters for businesses...

2. Flow state

Article content

Imagine an enterprise where the usual operational headaches simply… don’t show up. That’s the idea behind the superfluid enterprise — a business that runs with near-zero friction thanks to autonomous AI, blockchain-powered smart contracts and digital twins working quietly in the background. And the results? They’re hard to ignore. Companies are seeing two to three times returns on their AI investments, 35-50% cost savings and cycle times trimmed by as much as 70%. With internal friction costing firms $15,000 per employee annually and data silos draining 20-30% of revenue, the case for transformation is clear. In this next era, adaptability isn’t just helpful. It’s the edge that separates leaders from everyone else…

3. Deal or no deal

Article content

Turns out, even with the economy throwing mixed signals like a bad date, the U.S. mergers and acquisitions scene is thriving. So far in 2025, deal-making is up (way up) especially for the big-ticket stuff. CEOs are feeling bold, borrowing money isn’t a nightmare anymore, and everyone’s finally agreeing on prices because nothing kills a deal faster than a valuation gap. Confidence is high, optimism is trending, and private equity folks are practically popping champagne. Sure, there are risks and some industry quirks, but let’s be honest... when the market’s hot and cash is flowing, nobody’s sitting on their hands. If you’re waiting for “perfect conditions,” you’ll be waiting forever. The smart money is already moving. Are you ready?

4. Betting big

Article content

Private equity is back in the spotlight, and it’s not afraid to make headlines. In Q3 2025, deal value surged to a record-breaking $310 billion across 156 transactions, including five mega-deals over $10 billion. Financing conditions are improving as well, with syndicated loan activity reaching an all-time high of $404 billion and long-standing valuation gaps finally starting to narrow. Exits are gaining momentum too, rising 40% year over year to $470 billion. IPO whispers are becoming reality, with $18 billion raised so far. The takeaway is clear: after years of cautious optimism, the market is shifting into full “risk on” mode with bigger bets, bolder moves and a renewed appetite for what comes next.

 5. Arctic advantage

Article content

Geopolitics is getting frosty, and the stakes are getting lucrative. NATO just wrapped its first Arctic exercise, and the U.S. and Finland signed a $6.1 billion icebreaker deal that underscores a fast-growing race to secure the top of the world. China’s Northern Sea Route is already cutting shipping times to Europe by nearly 50%, and with the Arctic hitting its 10th-lowest sea ice minimum on record, the region is quickly opening for business. Defense contractors are exploring tech built for extreme environments, and telecom players are targeting a polar broadband market that could reach $5.2 billion by 2033. Opportunity is thawing quickly. But with cyberattacks quadrupling in Europe since 2023 and hybrid threats rising, resilience isn’t optional — it’s strategy.

Really enjoyed this week’s roundup—so many important shifts happening right now. The point about entrepreneurial thinking really hit home. Growth isn’t something you stumble into anymore; it takes adaptability and bold moves, and SGF seems like a great space for those conversations. The idea of a ‘superfluid enterprise’ is fascinating. Cutting friction with AI, blockchain, and digital twins feels like the next big leap for efficiency—and the numbers you shared make a strong case for why this matters. The private equity and M&A trends are also telling. Seeing confidence return and big deals happening again signals a real shift in the market. And the Arctic piece? That’s a reminder that geopolitics and business strategy are more connected than ever. Opportunities are opening up in places we never imagined, but so are the risks. Overall, these insights really reinforce one thing: adaptability isn’t just helpful—it’s the edge. Curious to hear what others think: which of these trends do you see having the biggest impact in 2026?
