MinRes boss Chris Ellison sued over claims of director breach

A company jointly owned by Mineral Resources and Destec has accused Chris Ellison of breaching his duties as a director, adding to an ongoing dispute over claims of stolen information.

ACN 621 413 803, previously known as Bulk Ore Shuttle System (BOSS), named Mr Ellison as the sole defendant in a writ lodged in the Supreme Court of Western Australia.

In the writ, BOSS claimed compensation over the damage it suffered because of Mr Ellison’s breaches from early 2018 to March 2025, which included allegations of MinRes using BOSS' confidential information to set up a rival operation.

Receivers take control of Margaret River wine producer Tate Wine

Receivers from FTI Consulting have assumed control of Tate Wine’s business, operations, and assets, including products from the brands Franklin Tate Estates, Tatelbaum, Origin of Now, and Miles From Nowhere.

FTI receivers Daniel Woodhouse, Hayden White and Antonetta Carroll were appointed by creditor Westpac, immediately after Cor Cordis administrators were voluntarily called in on November 7.

The practitioners are all working with stakeholders and the business' management on an assessment of the financial position of the entities under the group, which are understood to have debts in the tens of millions of dollars.

Runway, terminal works loom after Perth Airport surge

Perth Airport's earnings have taken off on the back of record passenger numbers, adding extra money to the bank as it pushes ahead with a $5 billion redevelopment project.

The airport’s latest accounts show revenue jumped 14.4 per cent to $751.8 million during FY25, driven by 17.5 million passengers moving through its terminals.

Pilbara Rail Maintenance bought by Italian giant Salcef Group

A company founded seven years ago to maintain the iron ore giants’ Pilbara rail networks has been bought by Italian railway specialist Salcef Group.

The deal, worth $180 million, will see Pilbara Rail Maintenance come under the Rome-headquartered Salcef Group’s umbrella.
