CAF has just rolled out its 1,000th Urbos tram, a milestone that highlights both the scale and localisation of modern light rail manufacturing. Urbos trams are now found in more than 50 cities worldwide. What makes this story so relevant isn’t just the production figures, it’s the model of scalable urban mobility it represents: 👉 Modular design tailored to specific city needs 👉 Integration with streetscapes and local infrastructure 👉 Operational efficiency in dense, evolving environments In a time when cities are racing to decarbonise and decongest, light rail is one of the most proven tools we have. But deployment success isn’t just about vehicle quality, it’s about context-aware design. CAF’s success is a reminder that mobility at scale must still move at the speed of people, integrated, intuitive, and built for place, not just pace. Can we scale infrastructure without losing its connection to the street? Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eGVJVmXQ #LightRail #UrbanMobility #CAF #TramDesign #PublicTransport

⬇️🚀🚀Follow ///Anis Maaouia Long before modern vertical parking towers emerged, Chicago engineers were already solving space problems with bold innovation. This elevator garage from the 1930s used a motorized lift system to store 48 cars vertically — all within a fraction of the footprint of a standard lot. It gave drivers a futuristic glimpse into how cities could handle growing car ownership without expanding sideways. And while this structure eventually made way for newer infrastructure, its philosophy lives on. 🚗 With today’s urban density, vertical parking is making a comeback — tackling space, traffic, and emissions all at once. Some ideas just show up before the world is ready. #Anis_Maaouia #EngineeringHistory #SmartCities #ChicagoInnovation #VerticalParking #1930sTech
