Vale Warwick Olson World Vision Australia and the World Vision Global Partnership honour the life and legacy of Warwick Olson, whose visionary leadership shaped our mission for more than three decades. From the 1970s to early 2000s, Warwick helped build World Vision into a household name, introducing initiatives like the 40 Hour Famine, child sponsorship campaigns, and inspiring TV specials that mobilised thousands to respond to global need. His influence extended across the world, contributing to World Vision’s identity across the global partnership. As former World Vision Australia CEO and Chief Advocate Tim Costello said: “Warwick Olson’s work with the 40 Hour Famine ignited a movement of compassion that has transformed countless lives around the world. His faith and courage remind us that one person’s conviction can inspire generations, and his legacy of humility will live on in every life changed”. We honour his extraordinary contribution and give thanks for the countless lives touched through his work. On behalf of the World Vision Australia team, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Warwick’s family and loved ones and pray for comfort and peace for those who mourn his passing.
