Ever wonder what kind of weather Wing drones can fly in? 🤔 We're back in the lab with John FitzSimons — our Chief Hardware Engineer — to answer this common question. Whether in the heat, cold, light rain or wind, our delivery drones are built to fly. Our aircraft are put through rigorous weather testing so they can operate in diverse conditions safely. In addition to the drones monitoring the weather conditions, we also have human operators constantly monitoring the local weather. Customers’ safety is our top priority, no matter the forecast. Given the use of diverse encoding schemes (like one-hot for weather type and vector encoding for wind speed) in a highly autonomous drone delivery system, how is this complex data synthesized and presented to the Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) operator, and what specific format is used to encode a Go/No-Go decision for immediate intervention?
