Where did Destin go this time? Smarter Every Day returns to the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant, and this time we go where few ever do, on the refueling bridge, directly above the reactor core during a refueling outage. Maintenance Superintendent Bill Ball joins him for a rare behind the scenes look at the precision, safety, and teamwork that keep one of the nation’s largest nuclear plants running safely and reliably. 🇺🇸 Check it out: http://tva.me/TWEG50XpmN6
Really great video here. Thanks to Destin Sandlin and the staff at Browns Ferry for sharing!
Amazing video! Well done!
Fantastic video Destin Sandlin
This was a great episode, well done Destin.
Safety First as Always! And interesting. However- I do not think it a good idea to post pictures of this nature due to the sensitivity of the (outage) on a nuclear reactor process as a whole.
Hats off to TVA and the Browns Ferry staff for allowing the Smarter Every Day crew amazing access to the refueling at Browns Ferry 2. As a retired nuke, after the initial PTSD (and anyone who used to work 12 hr shifts doing refueling knows what I mean!), I've been sharing this video with family and friends. I absolutely love the nuclear professional ethic displayed and how it infects Destin and his crew. Thank you TVA for pulling back the veil and showing the truth about commercial nuclear power. And thank you Destin for the platform - 4.5 million views and growing!!
Awesome video!
Loved the part where you casually brushed over how impressive 7 mils of imbalance is on such a massive turbine! Incredible!
Yes, nuclear is cool, but the most impressive things are the people and culture.
