Last week’s IBM & Red Hat roundtable in Sydney brought together an exceptional group of leaders across financial services to explore what it takes to thrive in a rapidly changing environment. As captured in Tracy's reflections, the conversation underscored the importance of balancing innovation with resilience, navigating AI responsibly, and reimagining customer trust for a digital-native future. A big thank you to our guest speakers Stevie-Ann Dovico, Sally Collins, Abdullah Khan, and Robby Brodie, and all the executives who contributed to such a rich discussion. This is what the Circle loves to do - create trusted spaces for candid dialogue on the issues that matter most.

I’m still thinking about the incredible conversation we had last week at our IBM & Red Hat exec roundtable in #Sydney on Designing the Future of Financial Services. With such a dynamic group of leaders in the room — including the brilliant Stevie-Ann Dovico (Beyond Bank Australia), Sally Collins (Aware Super), Abdullah Khan (IBM, and Robby Brodie (Red Hat) - the discussion was nothing short of energising. A few things that really stuck with me: The constant tension of modernising legacy systems while staying safe and compliant. “Hybrid by Design" making transformation intentional, not accidental. The real pain point of interoperability in regulated environments. Moving past AI hype to agentic AI (systems that act and learn) and what that means for trust. How different generations define trust: heritage and stability vs transparency and digital-first experiences. I was grateful to moderate a conversation that was both frank and forward-looking. Thank you to all the executives who joined from across banking, superannuation, payments, insurance, and tech. It is clear, the leaders who thrive will balance innovation with resilience, reimagine digital-native engagement, and invest in culture and trust as much as technology. #thenetworkeffect Trans - Tasman Business Circle Cerise Devaux Renee Woodward Tanya Oziel Johnny Weiss Callum Audet
