Conversations can make the difference between isolation and connection. That’s why we’re proud to back Lifeline’s ‘How’s Ya Mate?’ program🏉 With a $300,000 three-year commitment, Tilt Renewables is proud to support Lifeline Australia in delivering meaningful mental health and resilience support across regional and remote communities. Developed by Lifeline Australia Country to Coast in partnership with AFL Broken Hill, ‘How’s Ya Mate?’ encourages Australians, especially men in regional areas, to check in with each other, share stories, and break down the stigma surrounding mental health. Our support will help Lifeline expand its outreach and deliver tailored resources to more communities across Far West NSW and extend into regional South Australia. Because one conversation can change a life. Let’s start more of them. Watch the full video here: https://lnkd.in/gzziCxsp Or read more on the announcement here: https://lnkd.in/g79hr-Rv

Strengthening community resilience, together 💪 Today we attended the Gippsland Relief and Recovery Subcommittee meeting, which brings together local councils, emergency service and community organisations, all working collaboratively to support communities before, during and after extreme weather events. It was great to be part of this important conversation, learning from Gippsland’s leadership in local preparedness and recovery efforts, especially having run our National Landholder + Community Engagement Training and Regional Energy Accord Roundtable in Gippsland earlier this year. Our Director, Energy Equity Bec Jolly shared insights from two of The Energy Charter #BetterTogether initiatives that can directly support these important local efforts: 💡 Community Energy Resilience: Power Outage Planning – collaborating with communities and energy networks to strengthen preparedness and recovery through collaboration. ❤️ Life Support: Power Outage Planning Education + Awareness – co-developed with Life Support Customers and medical experts to help households prepare safely for unplanned outages. These #BetterTogether initiatives reflect the shared commitment across sectors to help make community energy resilience practical, inclusive and customer-led. Thank you to the Gippsland Relief and Recovery Subcommittee for the opportunity to connect, listen and learn — together, we’re helping communities stay safe and supported when it matters most. 🌏 Find out more about our #BetterTogether initiatives: https://lnkd.in/eBnjerpx #CheckPlanDo #CommunityResilience #PowerOutagePlan #BetterTogether #EnergyCharterAU

Pleased to launch our new Energy Advice East website - just a simple calling card really that supports and supplements the efforts of a much broader partnership; a growing regional network built around the trusted local relationships of our Citizens Advice partners operating across the East. We'll be adding more content soon including downloadable posters and training materials (as well as opportunities to order hard copies) for frontline workers interested in helping address fuel poverty. Our long-standing partnership with UK Power Networks has already made a significant impact towards our jointly held ambitions to combat the scourge of fuel poverty. We've supported thousands of households in Essex struggling with the rising cost of energy. This successful collaboration, along with support from current and former partners Cadent Gas Limited, British Gas Energy Trust, and the Energy Redress Scheme, has helped us help people stay warm, manage their bills, and access the financial help they need. Now we're expanding this work across the East of England - bringing together local Citizens Advice Essex consortium members' Citizens Advice Chelmsford, CITIZENS ADVICE COLCHESTER, HARLOW CITIZENS ADVICE and HARLOW CITIZENS ADVICE, and working alongside new partners - Citizens Advice Broxbourne, Citizens Advice Luton, IPSWICH AND DISTRICT CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAU, Norfolk Citizens Advice, and Citizens Advice Diss, Thetford and District & Thetford. Each of these partners already plays a vital role in their communities, as do all local Citizens Advice offices, to help counter the scourge of fuel poverty. By linking our efforts under the Energy Advice East partnership, we can reach further, respond faster, and strengthen the energy advice offer available across the UKPN region, supplementing - not replacing - the incredible impact of the wider network. https://lnkd.in/eu-vgj7D Many thanks to Paul Williams Pete Willis Jo Lomax Cody Prior Emmanuel Akadiri and Helen Packwood and many others for your support #EnergyAdviceEast #CitizensAdvice #FuelPoverty #EnergySupport #PartnershipWorking #CommunityImpact #UKPowerNetworks #EnergyJustice #FinancialWellbeing #EmpoweringCommunities #EnergyChampions #FrontlineSupport #TogetherWeCan #RegionalPartnership #VCSE #EastOfEngland #SustainableEnergy #CostOfLivingSupport

In the energy sector, collaboration between regulated energy operators and emergency responders is critical, and this shouldn’t start during a crisis. Collaboration can begin with community awareness programs that help bridge gaps by connecting companies with municipalities, First Nations, and response agencies to align priorities, clarify roles, and plan for unified action before it is required. Community awareness programs foster trust, improve readiness, and ensure communities are better equipped to respond when it matters most. Learn what to plan for and the critical components for building bridges with necessary community agencies and local energy operators so that everyone is prepared to work together swiftly, to mitigate losses and improve emergency response outcomes. https://lnkd.in/eSisqUjU #EmergencyPreparedness #CommunityEngagement #PublicSafety #EnergySector

Visiting Ben Linder’s original workshop in El Cuá was an emotional experience. This is where Green Empowerment and our local partner #ATDER-BL were first founded. 💚 Here, Ben worked alongside communities to build micro-hydro energy systems that transformed lives. The first system, completed in 1985, served 70 homes and one streetlight. Over the years, the system has expanded to reach more communities and keep pace with local population growth. Today, it serves 10,000 families! #LocalLeadership #MicroHydro #CommunityLeadership #Nicaragua | Meal-a-Day; PeaceWorks; PS&S | Andrea Johnson; Mica Miro; Sebastián Salgado Troya

Tackling fuel poverty and reducing emissions starts with empowering people. Red Rock is proud to support Energy Action Scotland, funding invaluable energy efficiency training for front line community workers. John Yorston, Head of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality at Red Rock said: “Our partnership with Energy Action Scotland and this investment in the training of front-line workers, will help educate and support hundreds if not thousands of potentially vulnerable people across our local communities, including many rural areas where support can often be limited." This partnership is another step toward ensuring no one is left behind in the transition to a cleaner, fairer energy future 🌍🪴 #RedRockRenewables #FuelPoverty #Sustainability Read more here 🔗 https://lnkd.in/ekDuDxrE

Let's talk about Social Capital.. A key part of developing the National Social Capital + Social Infrastructure Measurement Framework was to ensure it resonates with everyone. Creating a unified language so that all Australians can talk about it and understand how and why we need to measure it. I'm super proud of the explainer video we created at Resilient Ready and how this will help us embed the trust, connections and cooperation between people as part of Australia's focus on building resilient and ready communities. Much appreciation to Professor Daniel Aldrich for many, many conversations as we refined the end descriptor. Thanks to the National Emergency Management Agency for DRF Round 2 funding, and to everyone who's supported this journey. Johanna G. Miriam Lumb Gary Pike Vianne R. A powerful framework that truly shifts how we approach disaster resilience in local communities. The new Social Infrastructure Measurement Framework by Renae Hanvin and Daniel Aldrich ensures that people and connections are truly placed at the centre of our planning. I love how it focuses on a community's ability to bounce back through reliance on its social systems, and not just physical assets.
