🌟 Listening Through Their Eyes - 2025 Childhood Summit 🌟 “We are community citizens. We have a voice. We want to use it.” Powerful words from the young Queenslanders who took to the stage at the 2025 Childhood Summit in Logan last week - reminding us all to listen deeply to children and honour their courage in speaking up. The Salvation Army Communities for Children Logan was proud to partner in this incredible event, held during Children’s Week and led by the Australian Institute of Play alongside many passionate organisations and community champions. Across two days, 54 children shared their insights on topics that matter most to them - from mental health and connection to culture, respect, and digital childhoods. Each session was a powerful reminder that children are experts in their own lives, and that true change begins when we listen and act on what they tell us. A special thank you to the Department of Social Services (DSS) for their funding, which supports our work in Logan and makes opportunities like this Summit possible - helping us amplify children’s voices and strengthen our community programs. A heartfelt thank you to all the presenters, partners, and especially the children whose wisdom and bravery made this Summit so impactful.
