The Nightly’s Post

The Nightly’s recently announced Editorial Director of Travel, Richard Clune, attended the Mumbrella Travel Marketing Summit last month. “Not surprisingly, AI was the dominant talking point - but there’s also much chatter around human touch, trust and connectivity as increasingly valuable and sought-out measures,” Richard said. “AI’s rate of engagement and growing capability is phenomenal and unrivalled and not something we can, or should, simply skip past. But it was equally powerful to hear and explore the human element - to talk about the power of human emotion and the place that hold.” This year’s summit featured keynotes and panels from Tourism Australia’s Susan Coghill, Mastercard’s Luke McClellandTourism Tasmania’s Lindene Cleary, The Growth Distillery’s Dan Krigstein and Seven Network’s Director of Morning Television Sarah Stinson among others. The Australian tourism and travel sector is set to inject $315 billion into the national economy in 2025 alone, and will feature heavily in The Nightly’s new premium travel initiative, which is launching soon.
