“We were challenged to find a way to satisfy ourselves that background compliance was being done without losing sight of hiring the right person. What frightened us was getting bogged down in a sensitive or potentially negative discussion with a candidate about their life and (1) not really knowing the right questions to ask (2) how to analyse that information correctly and consistently and (3) come to a sound non-discriminatory conclusion.” read more: https://zurl.co/0y79R

Integrity Check: When the Interview Ends at the Parking Lot We had an interview experience that perfectly illustrates why integrity is the non-negotiable core of our hiring process. A candidate came in, impressed us with their skills, and then, on the way out to our parking lot, they decided to steal a helmet that didn't belong to them. The follow-up was an exercise in pure absurdity. To get the stolen property back, our team had to: * Review hours of CCTV footage to confirm the theft from the parking area. * Call the candidate multiple times because they tried to ghost us. * When finally confronted with the video evidence, their unbelievable excuse was: "My helmet got stolen a few days ago, so I took this one." Let that sink in. Their logic was that theft justifies more theft. This wasn't just a lapse in judgment; it was a deliberate choice followed by an outrageous attempt to justify a crime. It cost us hours of lost time and confirmed that we dodged a massive bullet. To all candidates: Your character is assessed from the moment you step onto our property until the moment you leave. The interview doesn't just happen in the conference room. If you lack basic honesty, no amount of talent will save you. We are not just hiring skills; we are hiring trust. 📣 PSA: Scammers, we’re on to you. You slide into inboxes with vague promises. You ask for driver’s licenses before interviews. And now—passwords? Really? Let me spell it out: If you’re asking for sensitive info before a single phone call, interview, or verified job offer… you’re not recruiting. You’re phishing. Truth is, when you’re desperate and hungry for the next opportunity, you start to doubt your own common sense. I almost did. But my instincts kicked in—and I listened. So here’s the bright side: 🔹 At least the scammer thought I was employable. 🔹 I didn’t fall for it. 🔹 And I’m still standing—with humor, grit, and a whole lot of heart. To fellow job seekers: Protect your data. Trust your gut. Share your stories. To recruiters and hiring managers: Respect the process. Respect the people. To scammers: Your days of easy targets are numbered. If you know of roles in operations, supply chain, or commercialization—especially in DFW—I’m ready to lead, build, and bring heart to the systems that need it most. #ScamAlert #JobSearchJourney #CareerTransparency #DFWJobs #LatinaLeadership #StillStanding #WeSeeYou

If you could change one thing about the background check industry or had a wish list feature enhancement what would it be? I’ll go first: I believe every background check company should give applicants at least 24 hours to review, confirm, and provide additional context for any potentially adverse information before it’s reported to the employer. The benefits? Greater transparency for consumers and a significant reduction in litigation related to inaccurate or incomplete reporting. The industry would be better off as a whole if this was a standard process. But just one persons opinion.

Many employers don’t realize that running a background check requires strict compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act. ✅ You must provide a standalone disclosure ✅ Get written authorization before running the report ✅ And if you reject a candidate based on the results, follow the pre-adverse action process Even unintentional mistakes have led to costly class-action lawsuits.
