Local on-device AI is getting faster on M-series chips, and for text transformation tasks (summarize, translate, rephrase… maybe even explain) it doesn't make sense to send them off to a server: it adds latency and lower privacy. The mixed local/cloud approach used by Apple Intelligence is clever, and because they own the whole stack, they can evolve the balance as their M-series become more and more powerful for AI, bringing more tasks on-device. https://lnkd.in/eV5Qxg_p
