We are excited to celebrate the launch of the Sol de Janeiro Foundation, a major milestone in our mission to make the world a better place while feeling good doing it.
Rooted in our passion for the intersection of beauty, community, and responsibility, the Sol de Janeiro Foundation is committed to two powerful pillars:
🌿 The regeneration and conservation of biodiversity
✨ The empowerment of young women worldwide
We’re proud to support inspiring inaugural partners like Instituto de Pesquisas
Ecológicas (IPÊ), SOS Mata Atlântica, Filha do Sol, the Girls Opportunity Alliance and more, who are leading transformative change in their communities. Since launching last month, the Foundation has already committed $5.77M in grants, protecting rainforests, restoring biodiversity, increasing access to clean water, and expanding opportunities for young women across the globe. With $7M committed by the end of next year, this initiative is fully funded by Sol de Janeiro, ensuring that every step of progress is driven by our brand’s purpose.

Hi, I'm Haley Makes, vice chair of the board for the Soldier Genero Foundation. From its conception, caring for the environment and uplifting women has been at the heart of our philanthropic efforts. Over time, we realized that to truly honor these values, we had to go beyond what we make a future where women and nature thrive together. Our mission is to protect the planet's most precious ecosystems and to empower the new generation of women with the tools, opportunities and confidence they need to shape their own future. The most critical and biodiverse ecosystems on Earth include places like Brazil's Atlantic Forest and the Amazon rainforest. These forests are home to many endemic species, their climate critical, and they're also home to millions of people. Our second pillar is all about enabling young women to live well around the world. So many girls still face barriers that limit their access to education, resources and economic opportunities. Our vision is quite simple, to make change one girl at a time, so they have the tools, the support and the confidence. To create the life they deserve. When nature thrives, communities thrive. And when women thrive, they often lead the way in protecting and restoring the natural world we all depend on. That's the kind of lasting change we want to create. When we started this foundation, our vision was clear to build it around our partners, people with deep roots in their communities, who live the challenges everyday and lead the solutions from within. It sustains local livelihoods and cultural heritage. In turn, when those communities are equipped with the rights and resources they need, they are able to protect those same forests, strengthening resilience long into the future. At the Sole de Janeiro Foundation, every partnership is designed to strengthen this reciprocal. Relationship ensuring that each project feels an ongoing cycle of regeneration for both people and the planet. So you need to help us make a huge renovation in our nursery. So in this facility here right now, we are able to produce more than 700,000 seedlings every single year of over more than 100 different species. So de Janeiro is sending a message to the world and in very important message that Conservation of Nature is not only for an organization like PIPE. It is important that everyone understands that we are part of nature and that the planet needs everyone's support. Through Soul de Janeiro, we can touch and we can reach people that we would not be able to otherwise. As biodiversity loss accelerates and gender inequality deepens, there's an unprecedented pressure to act now. But luckily, the choices ours to love deeply, to act boldly, and to care for this Earth and all those who call it. Tom.
