Earlier this month at Global Citizen Festival: Amazônia in Belém, Brazil, the Sol de Janeiro Foundation announced its partnership with Re:wild to protect 6 million acres of the Amazon rainforest under Indigenous leadership through the Chief Raoni Legacy Fund. The Sol de Janeiro Foundation has pledged $1.5M over five years, beginning in 2026, to provide long-term financing for the protection of Kayapó territories, cultures, and communities, along with an additional $100K to support an upcoming documentary directed by Maurício Dias about the life and legacy of Chief Raoni. As a Brazilian-founded brand, this partnership reflects a deepening of the Sol de Janeiro Foundation’s connection to protecting the beautiful natural landscapes, such as the Amazon, that have inspired the brand – reflecting our belief that beauty is inseparable from the biodiversity that inspires it. Together with Re:wild, the Chief Raoni Legacy Fund is advancing a model of conservation that honors ancestral knowledge, centers Indigenous leadership, and safeguards this critical ecosystem for future generations. We couldn’t be more honored to play a role in this vital work. 📍 Belém, Brazil Watch the festival moment here: https://lnkd.in/eeuRKReV Explore all of the event photos here: https://lnkd.in/e-2yztwb #SoldeJaneiroFoundation #Rewild #GlobalCitizen #Amazon #Conservation #Brazil #Sustainability #ChiefRaoni
Great example of how a brand stays true to itself and sets a growth trajectory that will be generational! Powerful!
