[COP30] How Industrial Platforms Can Accelerate the Circular Economy The latest edition of the Circularity Gap Report shows global circularity keeps shrinking — from 9% in 2018 to 6.9% in 2025 — mainly due to rising extraction and resource consumption. Industry, as a major user of energy and materials, is central to reversing this trend. Today, 41% of industrial waste is reused, but much more is possible through industrial symbiosis, which strengthens different benefits: - Operational: Shorter, more resilient supply chains built on local ecosystems. - Economic: Improved cost visibility, less exposure to international volatility. - Environmental: Economies of scale in environmental investments, enhancing their impact. - Social: Increased regional attractiveness, fostering new investments and securing local jobs. Industrial collaboration can range from shared services (energy, waste, mobility) to substitution synergies (heat, water, joint solar/BESS) to large-scale hubs (H₂, CCUS). Sia supports industrial players and territories with: - Mapping industrial ecosystems - Identifying and quantifying synergies - Building roadmaps & governance - Deploying industrial symbiosis projects 👉 Contact us to learn more! #COP30 #CircularEconomy #IndustrialSymbiosis
