I was scribbling notes last night about the issues with 'institutional DeFi'; mainly, institutions are very hesitant to enter the space due to compliance and operational control concerns. This morning's announcement (below, also with a link to an August post from beloved Jorge Serna explaining the vision behind hybrid finance) starts moving the needle for all of us. Securitize is bringing regulated securities onchain, creating compliant defi workflows, and allowing onchain institutions to leverage their digital assets in a transparent, seamless, and secure fashion. TradFi meets DeFi: VanEck's VBILL tokenized treasury fund is now live on Aave Horizon, priced by Chainlink. The bridge is officially built.

What we are announcing Today at Securitize is huge. You can now post VanEck's VBILL as collateral in Aave Labs' Horizon permissioned Market. The balances of the securities are tracked all along the cycle to allow a hybrid approach. UBS today announced the world’s first in-production, end-to-end tokenized fund transaction leveraging the Chainlink Labs DTA technical standard. As the #OnChain distributor in this live institutional transaction, DigiFT enabled subscription and redemption flows for the UBS USD Money Market Investment Fund token (uMINT) to be executed and reconciled entirely on-chain. “As the authorized on-chain fund distributor for uMINT, we demonstrated in collaboration with UBS how fund operations can be executed and reconciled on-chain with real-time visibility,” said Henry Zhang, Founder and Group CEO, DigiFT. “Leveraging the Chainlink DTA technical standard enables seamless subscription and redemption workflows directly integrated with institutional custody.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/gbW6PNBk
