💧 Bringing water is bringing life. In Belinjo, in the Deep South of Madagascar, the DELFINA Association is leading the project “One Well, One Source of Life”, supported by Emmanuel Dosso, to provide local residents with direct access to clean drinking water. A solar-powered borehole and awareness initiatives will help create lasting change for the entire community. Because a well is more than just infrastructure, it’s a source of hope for the future. #MissionWater

🌿 The Infrastructure Enabled Edible Landscape (IEEL) Following our work at Fr Angelus Park, Westport, Food Forests Ireland CLG is continuing to develop the IEEL with communities around Clew Bay. This growing network of food forests lies at the heart of the landscape, helping restore nature, produce food and build resilience. 💬 Our recent community gathering brought local community groups and supporters together to share knowledge, strengthen connections and deepen commitment to this important work. The energy and collaboration showed how powerful community led climate action can be. The IEEL project is more than just a local initiative. It is an exemplar for similar public infrastructure projects across Ireland, demonstrating how food forests and edible landscapes can be embedded into our shared spaces for the benefit of people and nature. 🌱 Our vision is to support communities nationwide in creating resilient edible landscapes that connect people to the land and help adapt to climate change. We’re proud to be working with local communities and the support of Community Foundation Ireland to bring this vision to life. 📍 Learn more and get involved: www.foodforests.ie Community Foundation Ireland #RealClimateAction #FoodForests #NatureBasedSolutions #Biodiversity #Adaptation #Ireland #CircularBioeconomy #Community #ClewBay #Mulranny #Westport #Louisburgh #InishTurk #ClareIsland #Murrisk #Lecanvey #Newport #Achill

💧 When communities take part in managing shared rivers, lasting change begins. Farmers, civil society and businesses from Eswatini, Mozambique and South Africa are now helping shape how their shared waters are governed through the new IncoMaputo Multi-Stakeholder Platform (MSP), a milestone in transboundary water cooperation. Built on two years of dialogue and trust building, this platform turns collaboration into action and gives local voices real influence in decisions that cross borders. Mangroves do more than hold the shore together, they bring communities together. Building on the success of our 7,000-hectare reforestation project in Senegal, we’re expanding our blue carbon program to Guinea Conakry’s Konkouré Delta. Developed through ALLCOT – A Karbon-X Company, this new initiative strengthens coastal resilience, biodiversity, and local livelihoods across West Africa. Teams are now working with communities in Guinea to identify restoration areas and begin consultation activities, supported by regional training sessions held in Senegal. This is restoration and regeneration in action. Together, we’re turning climate ambition into measurable, lasting impact. When the U.S. scaled back its funding in Africa, it exposed a hard truth: philanthropy has too often fostered reliance, not resilience. This is not a call to return to dependency - it’s a call to rewire conservation finance. Beyond tourism, new financial instruments like Biodiversity Bonds and Payments for Ecosystem Services are turning ecological value into investable returns. 🌍As Tofauti founder Crista Cullen MBE puts it "Africa is not just a victim of donor retreat, it’s a laboratory for the future of conservation finance. The question is whether the world will recognise that in time." 👉 Read more: https://lnkd.in/ehsRFptM #ConservationFinance #ImpactInvestment #NaturalCapital #Africa #Resilience #TogetherWeMakeADifference
