My name is JP Penton, and I'm an electrical engineer at Salas O���Brien. I went to Iowa State and I was a construction engineer major. Looking back at my college experience, I asked myself, what did I really enjoy? And it was the electrical design side of things. I actually was a part of the ACE mentor program in high school. I am now also an ACE mentor for that program because I do realize the impact it had on my life and how I can give back to the students. Be patient, you need to see a bigger picture here. You need to start small. Look at those little tasks and see how they progress onto future projects. Salas O���Brien really hires people that are very encouraging, supportive, and help employees reach their full potential. My teammates ask me if I need help or if I can offer help for them as well when they're struggling. Everybody's just a supportive team and we're honestly all friends. Engineered for impact means to me making a lasting impression. Most of my teammates and I are always looking up different ways to improve our designs and make a better relationship with our clients. Fun fact about me is that I am adopted. So, it's great coming to the Bay Area and seeing all these minorities, just feeling how accepting they've been of me because I am of Vietnamese heritage.
