If companies are having trouble finding good candidates, why do I get so few interviews? This job market is the worst I've ever seen, and I see professional people I know now looking for a retail job.
I have applied for numerous opportunities with Robert Half in San Diego, CA. I did get a phone call and left a message. I called back the same day, and no one ever returned the call. So I am not sure what the status is over any of the jobs, except that I have applied. Thank you.
This is so interesting, thank you for sharing!
Thank you for the post, the guide always has some great insight with the changing trends and current local market.
It definitely is about the whole package that comes with the position, not just the salary. I would also say the company culture is also very important and something I look for personally.
Appreciate how clearly this breaks down both sides of the hiring equation right now. The “expectations gap” isn’t just about salary anymore. It’s about flexibility, culture, and real alignment between role and value.

It was really meaningful! Thank you for sharing with us! We lernt something new about this topic.
It's clear that flexibility and growth path often matter as much as base pay for many people when budgets are tight. The information on hybrid preferences and competitive negotiation confidence rings true so both sides need to get creative beyond just salary numbers. Happy to connect with hiring leaders navigating this balance.
